About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Italian food and recipes that have been in my family and my for generations.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year to celebrate my birthday my Great Aunt makes chicken and polenta (a family recipe she learned from her Grandmother). Making cut-out cookies at Christmas time.
My cooking triumphs
I make chicken & risotto, polenta and wedding soup as good as my Great Aunt and Grandma! I have mastered homemade bread, dinner rolls and pizza crust.
My cooking tragedies
I used miracle whip in a spinach dip recipe in place of mayonnaise once. It was horrible! I had to do alot of doctoring with other ingredients to make it edible.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread
This is the best bread! My family ate 1 loaf in a day. My youngest asked for a piece at every meal.

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds
A great snack my entire family enjoys. I have tried other recipes which only call for salt and oil/butter. They were just okay. I really like the addition of the worcestershire sauce.

Easy Granola Bars
Amazing! So quick to make. I used fat-free sweetened condensed milk and left out the cranberries only because my kids won't eat them. I sprayed my hand with no-stick butter flavored spray and firmly pressed the mixture into my 13X9 pan. I didn't have any trouble with the bars crumbling.
