Cranberry Hootycreeks

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
I did not do this in a jar, but just baked the cookies instead. Since I was making some for others, I left out the nuts in case of allergies, and just added some extra craisins and white chocolate chips. So good! Thanks for the recipe!

I substituted natural applesauce for all of the oil. I also reduced the eggs to 3. Used 4 oz of cream cheese in the frosting and added some cinnamon while mixing. Yum!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2011
Very yummy! I did make some substitutions to make more healthy, and it was still great. I used 4 egg beaters to eliminate fat and cholesterol from regular eggs, 1/2 cup canola oil & 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, substituted apple juice in place of water, reduced sugar to 1 cup white and 1 cup light brown sugar, 2 cups unbleached flour, and 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour. I doubled the cinnamon, and baked mini muffins for 13-14 min. I made 48 regular mini muffins, and then added some mini chocolate chips to the rest of the batter and made 36 more pumpkin/chocolate chip muffins. The regular muffins were great, but we loved the chocolate chip ones even more. Never missed cutting the sugar by 1 cup, as it was sweet enough, and we love our sweets! Thanks so much for this recipe!

I turned these into muffins and just felt they lacked flavor. My husband likes them, so they weren't wasted, but none of the rest of us cared to eat any more. :-(

Doubled the sauce for the chicken only. It was good, but not as flavorful the next day.

We weren't crazy about this, and I was surprised. Made recipe exactly as stated. I did think it tasted better once the sauce cooled off, so maybe 3.5 stars.

One Week – Six Dinners – Just $100

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
I love the idea of this, but the price is more than what I am looking for. If you check out E-Mealz at http://e-mealz.com they have many different meal plans and even based on some popular grocery shopping stores so they update them weekly based on those store's ads. Not trying to put all recipes out of business on this, but maybe they will eventually be able to do the same. E-Mealz has 26 different menus based on 2 people to 4-6 people, as well as weight watchers, low fat, low carb, gluten free, etc.. May want to check that out. Also, for the grocery store specific ones, it lists avg price of groceries, which is usually $75-$85 for 7 meals. Just wanted to let you know of another option.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
I decreased butter to 3/4 stick. I was originally thinking it was one stick butter, but 1 cup butter is 2 sticks. It however still turned out great with the butter decrease. Also used 2 bags Orville natural white microwave popcorn and it was a perfect amount. Baked 45 min, stirring after every 15 min. interval. Thanks for a terrific recipe!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2010
Very good! I used chicken broth instead of water/boullion mixture in the soup. I had no celery on hand, so I used diced baby carrots. Next time will do both and toss in some frozen peas as well. Also seasoned with some garlic powder per other reviewers. It was delicious comfort food!

Stuffed Pork Chops I

I am rating this a 5, but I did shortcut this by using Stove Top stuffing prepared according to the box and then put on the pork chops and topped with the mushroom gravy. They were delicious, easy and tender. Thanks!

Omelet in a Mug

What an easy idea. Perfect because the mug kept the omelet warm longer. I just added a little milk for moisture and a dash of onion powder. Thanks for a great, quick and easy recipe!

Meatball Sandwich

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2010
This was good, but I still enjoy Italian sausage meatballs better. However, I will use this when I only have ground beef on hand as they were tasty. Did make some changes however, so the review is based on the changes I made per other reviewers. Used 2 eggs, 3 T parmesean cheese and 1 1/2 tsp minced onion. Used 3 tsp Italian seasoning, but it was too much. Will go back to recipe and use 2 tsp again. Cooked at 350 for 35 min.

Perfect Baked Potato

Yum! Put olive oil in bag. Pricked potatoes with fork and put in bag one at a time. Sprinkled garlic powder and kosher salt on skin and placed right on edged cookie sheet. I baked at 375 for 60 min and they were perfect. Thanks for a great way to season the skin!

Fluffy Pancakes

I already had a great pancake recipe from here, but now that I have tried these, this is my #1 recipe! The only change I did was to add 1 tsp vanilla to the wet ingredients. Also made with 2 tsp oil instead of butter and just as good. Awesome+++++

Pumpkin Cookies V

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2010
So good! I only added 1/2 tsp allspice to the cookies. Baked 2 cookie sheets at a time for 13 min was perfect. I did use parchment paper. The icing was the best! I did cool it for about 45 min, but after dipping them, the icing was a little runny, so next time I will add more powdered sugar and see if that helps. Thanks for a winner!

Sugar Cookie Icing

This was a great recipe, but I found that I like it with clear vanilla a lot better than the almond extract. I did like how it set well and was nice and shiny. Thank you for a new icing favorite of mine!

I just got a waffle maker for Christmas. I found this recipe and it was awesome! I read some reviews and separated the egg whites and beat them separately until fluffy. Then I added 1/2 tsp cinnamon and doubled the vanilla to be 1 tsp. So yummy! Thanks for this great recipe!

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
Yummy! The leftovers actually tasted better because the flavors had more time to meld together. I added more tomato juice as it tasted a little too creamy after putting in the butter and heavy cream. I used 2 reg. tomatoes and 3 roma tomatoes and about 5 cups tomato juice.
