About this Cook
I'm a mom of 6, so cooking is a necessity here! Its a good thing I enjoy it. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't like to cook!
My favorite things to cook
I looooove chocolate. I'm so addicted to it, its awful and wonderful at the same time because I find too much to bake with it! I also love cheesecake, and anything with pasta or rice.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I HAVE to do the big holiday dinners for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years and Easter. Its an obsession! I just don't feel like its the holidays without it.
My cooking triumphs
Hey, I can single-handedly do a holiday dinner for 30 people no problem! Its fun! And then I collapse for about 2 days afterward....
My cooking tragedies
I'm too much of a perfectionist, so if I don't approve of a dish, in the GARBAGE it goes! I've been so upset over a cooking disaster that I have made my husband take us all out for dinner instead because I ruined the dinner!

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake
Seriously--the BEST chocolate cake ever! I don't have coffee liquer. We don't even drink coffee anything--but I keep on hand a small container of the instant coffee granules and just mix 1/2 cup hot water with a few spoonfuls of the coffee granules and substitute that for the coffee liquer and it works great! Oh--this really is just the best cake!! I make it all the time for my family and church potluck.

Playgroup Granola Bars
Wonderful base recipe! You can substitute or add most anything. I used choc. chips and pecans instead of raisins, whole wheat flour instead of white, and added flax seeds. I also did one with dried banana chips crushed up and walnuts and added 1/2 tsp. banana candy flavoring oil and they taste like banana bread!

Peach Cake II
Wonderful! The kids loved it, too! I used overripe peaches I didn't want to waste and just chopped them into 1/2 inch pieces, skin and all and I sprinkled the pecans on top after I put the batter in the pan. The cake was gone in a day~
