Crunchy Oven Fried Tilapia

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2009
I really liked this a lot but my husband not so much. I give it a 4 anyway. It satisfied my craving for fish sticks and was much healthier. I use half panko for the crumbs and it was super crunchy.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
These were great. We did them on the grill and they taste like regular hamburgers. Nice texture when cooked (I halfed the recipe and they were very hard to handle when raw). I am going to try as meatloaf next time. Thanks for a great recipe. We ate them with sweet potato fries and pepper jack cheese on wheat buns.

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
This is the recipe I have been using for years. I do season the meat first and coat the roast with flour before browning and I used red wine instead of water.I usually do mine in the oven as I think it tastes better or I cook it 3-4 hours on high in the crockpot.

Czech Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
I liked this recipe because it did not have cheese. The flavor was good even though I did not have any marjoram or the sour cream for the sauce (I also just used ground spices).

Lamb and Winter Vegetable Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I LOVED this stew but my husband thought it was "OK" so I took off one star. I used beef since my grocery store had no lamb except an entire $40 leg. I doubles the recipe since you can't really get 1 cup of parsnips and 1 sweet potato is about double and same with a small butternut squash. Thought this was great and fairly healthy too. Will make again.

Toscana Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
Fabulous. I have done chunks and slices both good (I like sliced potatoes best). Once I did not have italian sausage so I used some of the ham ends and pieces that I buy for beans and it was just as good. I have used turkey italian sausage and it also is just as good. I use milk when I don't have cream. I sometimes throw on some parmesan cheese. It is hard to mess up this soup and it is very satisfing and comforting. Thanks for the recipe.

Really loved this. Great with crusty bread. I used half and half and red potatoes with the skins still on.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
You either LOVE this cake or HATE this cake. If you love a dark bittersweet chocolate this is great. If you love sweet milk chocolate this is NOT for you. I used the Chocolate Ganache frosting recipe. Like I said everyone who tried it either loved it or hated it so I am giving it 4 stars for those who loved it. PS I did not have a bundt pan so I used a 9X12 and it came out fine.

Jimmy Dean Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
Really good (Jimmey Dean sausage was a bit too sagey. Tasted a little stuffing like). It was nice to have a hot breakfast with no mess to clean up while in the cabin on vacation. I made it and decreased the liquid by a cup and froze it before baking. Cooked it about an hour and it was great.

Pancho Villa Baked Tilapia

Really good even though I had to improvise. I used fresh tomamoes, sauteed onion and garlic, bottled lime juice and threw in some white wine and cilantro in the end. Family loved it with fresh pinto beans and corn tortillas. Thanks for the idea!

Really good. Mine was not a pretty brown like the pic but it tasted good. I added garlic, a little lemon and some white wine (1/4 cup). Its a keeper. I may try a roux next time instead of cornstarch.

White Chili II

Really good. Used leftover turkey and dried Northern beans (cooked plainly since canned were $2 a can here). Topped with reduced fat Monterrey Jack cheese, crushed tortilla chips, light sour cream and cilantro. Otherwise, followed the directions. Will make again.
