I love trying new recipes. I'm on this site ALL the time. I am a new mom so right now I am looking for Quick, Easy and somewhat Healthy recipes. I'm starting to realize that I don't have nearly the same amount of time to prepare meals. I'm thankful that I have a husband that likes to cook too. Together we make a great team.
My favorite things to cook
Laubskaus. Time consuming considering there are only 4 ingredients in it but de-freakin-licious! The prep is the time consuming/boring part. Slicing and dicing of the stew beef, potato's, salt pork and onion.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up my mom always made Norwegian waffles Christmas morning. They are delicious! She is still making them for us and when my son is old enough, probably Christmas 2010, I will start making them for him. The cardamom is the secret ingredient. My mom also made Laubskaus which is also Norwegian. That is probably my most favorite meal. It is definitely one of my husbands favorites that I make.
My cooking triumphs
Sorry mom, but my success story is when my husband said my Laubskaus were better than my moms AND my moms are GOOOOOD!
My cooking tragedies
I know I've had my fair share but I must've put them far far away in my brain so I would forget them. I do however always have trouble "timing" all my dishes together. They are rarely ever ready at the same time.
