Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
WOW is all I can say! These were so easy to make and taste just like peanut butter cups, which I love. My 6 year old and 4 year old helped out. I followed the recipe exactly except for the following changes: 1)I used Honey Made whole graham crackers chopped finely in my food processor. 2) I took the advice of another reviewer and "melted" the peanut butter with the butter. The results were fantastic! If you like chocolate and peanut butter, then you will love these. Thanks for the post.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
I just made these cookies for my daughters Christmas party at school and I had to review them before I forgot. They were really good. I didn't give it 5 stars as I changed it a bit. The only changes I made were to use salted butter and I omitted the additional salt. I also put the dough in the fridge for about 15 minutes before I started baking them and also during the cooking time in between batches. They were really good. I think the key is melting the butter. I usually use room temperature butter but I did melt it and it made a difference. They turned out a little crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I think I found my new cc cookie recipe. Oh, and this made 30 good size cookies. I am sure you could make them smaller and they would turn out just fine.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
I just finished making these cookies and I was diappointed. I was expecing a fantastic tasting cookie based on all the positive reviews and it just wasn't that great a cookie. I used 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla and followed the rest of the recipe to a 't'. They were a little dry and didn't have much flavor which I thought that was odd considering all the butter you use(and I used good quality, real butter). Even my two daughters, 4 and 6, didn't care for them. The dough is also very sticky to work with even after being in the fridge for 5 hours. You have to use a lot of flour on both the rolling pin and the rolling surface our you will have a mess. They do hold their shape but I was looking for a "sweeter" tasting sugar cookie. I guess I will have to continue my search.

Beefaroni

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because I changed it a bit. I browned the meat with some onion, fresh garlic and Montreal Steak Seasoning before adding it to the pasta. I only used 1/2 the pasta it called for and it was plenty!! It was enough for 4 adults and 3 kids with just enough leftover for my hubbies lunch. I used 1 can of diced tomatoes in their juice and 1 1/2 cans of tomato sauce mixed all together with Italian seasoning and some dried parsley. I also reserved some of the cheese for the top(last 10 minutes of baking)and also added some crushed Ritz Crackers on top for extra crunch! My husband loved it! It was super yummy and my picky 4 and 6 year olds gobbled it up. Thank you Kelli for the post. I will definitely make this again mabye adding some veggies next time. It is a good base to start.
