Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
I made this for the first time last winter, and it has become a family tradition! I couldn't even count how many loaves I've made, for family and friends, and as soon as its gone, the kiddos start asking for more! Moist, dense, flavorful, simply scrumptious! The only thing to note is, it does take a little longer to cook in my oven as well. Well, off to bake more of this goodness up:) TYTYTY Cheryl!!

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
This was so excellent! My hubby n I were spoiled by working at a restaurant with great roast beef, and now we can make it at home! I used an herb rub, just a basic combination of season salt, pepper, garlic and onion powders, and a little italian seasoning mixed with veg oil kind of thing (a take on the 'herb rubbed sirloin tip roast' recipe from this site.) Also made sure to let roast come to room temp b4 cooking. Holy cow it was AWESOME! Turned into a perfect, moist, medium rare delicacy! A 6 lb roast was gone in an hour! This would get 10 stars if I could! TYTYTY Lyn for the recipe!

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
excellent!!! I halved the cayenne (for the kiddos) and used some italian seasoning instead of oregano/thyme (crushing italian seasoning in the palm of my hand before adding, as it releases fresher flavor)We also used veggie oil as hubby detests EVO. I let a 6.5# sirloin roast marinate for about 6 hours in the fridge. Added quartered potatoes, sliced onion and beef broth to pan, put roast on small rack in middle, and foil wrapped the whole thing. then roasted in 325 oven for 2.5 hrs (didn't let meat get fully to room temp b4 roasting, only sat out 30 mins) OMG it was so delicious! It made the best au jus as well! whole family devoured it, and it's rare for everyone to agree on anything! next day we sliced remaining meat thin and warmed up in au jus and it made the greatest sandwiches! tytyty for a great recipe, and tytyty for this allrecipes community for great reviews that let originally clueless cooks like me make masterpieces such as this!

London Broil I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
This was wonderful! I've made it twice in 2 weeks the whole family's loved it so. This last time I doubled the marinade for a 2.5 lb london broil. The only changes to the marinade I made was substituting a mixture of worchestershire sauce, san-j meat marinade and balsamic vinegar for the soy sauce. I only marinaded it for 1.5 hrs., then seared the meat on both sides, poured in the marinade and 2 cups of water, covered it and cooked on med-hi heat for about 5-7 mins a side (had to watch the marinade and mix it a bit.) Then I removed the meat, added about 2-3 cups more of water and 2 packets of low-sodium mc cormicks brown gravy to the marinade in the pan to make the most wonderful gravy to pour over the tender, moist meat!! This recipe is now in the regular rotation, thank you sooo much for posting!!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2009
These were excellent!!! We have 5 kids, so the chances of making something everyone loves is actually quite slim, but these chops had everyone begging for more! I followed the others' advice and marinated the chops right in the glass baking pan for 1.5 hrs in the fridge, then set the pan on the counter to warm up while preheating the oven. I just covered it, put the whole thing in the oven for an hour, flipping the chops mid way, and uncovering it for the last 10 mins. and they were soooo tender and flavorful! I quadrupled the sauce mix and served it on the side and on top for the kiddos to dip in. I would agree that if you want the sauce to be more like a glaze, a flash broil should do it nicely (if you add more brown sugar, tho, watch it in the oven as the sauce started to get crusty on the edges and would probably burn concidering how sugar behaves). Lastly, as I had no lemon juice or soy sauce on hand, I used a generous amount of lemon pepper seasoning and about a tsp of apple cider vinegar, and a little kikkoman marinade instead of soy. Excellent dish and thank you!!!
