Adrienne's Tom Ka Gai

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
Yippee!! My guy mentioned that he loves "lemon grass soup" so I found this recipe. I can't wait for him to get home from work and try this! I had to use dried lemon grass (wimpy grocery store) but it tastes great! I doubled the garlic (I always do), added shrimp along with the chicken, and chicken broth (instead of water). I kept it low carb without rice or noodles. OMG this is the bomb! It screams with flavor! Thanks for posting this EXCELLENT recipe!

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
Followed recipe as written except used butter flavored crisco and a tad more honey. I bought myself a new kitchenaid mixture, did a little dance in my kitchen I was so happy and then proceeded to immediatly make this bread. Easy to make. Smells wonderful. My boyfriend came home from work and proceeded to eat 90% of the first loaf in one evening! He raved about it! No more store bought bread for him! He took the second loaf to share with a co-worker the next day. The following day the co-worker asked if there was any more bread because his son had eaten the entire portion taken home (except the one slice he had managed to nibble at before his son got ahold of it). The son wanted to know where he could get more of the beast bread he had ever eaten! I have never made bread before but I will from now on! I am making my third batch in 2 weeks this morning. My kitchen smells wonderful!!!!

Mexican Corn

Wow! A winner!! I had made some camarones y bistec ranchero and needed something to cool it down. So I made this corn and added "just enough" pickled jalepenos to give it flavor and it was PERFECTO! Next time I'll add more heat (when I don't have enough heat from the rest of dinner. Thanks Karen!

Watermelon Fire and Ice Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2005
I tripled the recipe for a party and it ALL disappeared with only 10 people at the party! I omitted green pepper (personal preference) and tripled the lime juice as well as adding the zest of all three limes. Serving it with the 'hint of lime' tortilla chips really was the trick though. !Thanks to the other reviewers!) Some of the guests thought it was made with tomatoes!

Dog Food Dip

I have made this one several times for home and work potlucks. It not a pretty dish but the name gets 'em to try it once and the taste keeps 'em coming back for more! I love it! I do add some garlic to the ground beef when browning it. It really does need to sit overnight in the refrigerator overnight for the flavors to marry. Good stuff!! Addictive!

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2005
Two words.... Got milk? Wow, these are very rich, moist brownies. Incredible!! I did add a total of 3 cups of zucchini. I also added a dash of cinnamon to the frosting. They were gone in an instant!
