Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2007
I have one word..MESSY!!! I thought this recipe sounded easy enough, and it was...but what a mess. After refridgerating for one hour I attempted to roll into balls. They were VERY gooey and extremely STICKY. I made 1/3 with almond flavor and coated with hot cocoa mix, walnuts, and white chocolate drizzle. I think the final product looked OK(see photo), and tasted delicious...because of the mess I am only giving this recipe 4 stars. Maybe using a melonballer, as others suggested, would have made things "neater". I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for this recipe.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
SUPER EASY TO MAKE! I followed the directions, but took others advice and covered the cake in foil for the last ten minutes. I was concerned about the hour cook time, but it came out perfect! I had no trouble removing it from the pan. I also used cocoale chunks instead of chips. I sifted powdered sugar and added sliced strawberries on top. (see my posted photo). NO NEED FOR ICING OR GLAZE. It was very moist and super sweet. I do not like chocolate cake, but everyone who ate it, including my kids (3 yr and 5yr) LOVED it. I would make this cake again and try the andes mint chips or a white chocolate version. Thank you for this EASY recipe.

Jumbo Fluffy Walnut Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2006
Great recipe! I made a few adjustments: 1 cup white sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar, added 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 2 1/2 cups diced apples. I used regular sized muffin tins and came out with 15 muffins. I also made a different topping:1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 cup melted butter. They were perfect! Smelled great, tasted great. See pictures I posted. We will definately make these again! Thank you for this recipe.

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2006
Well , I really did not think this recipe sounded that exciting, but my kids wanted Peanut Butter cookies so we tried it and we loved them!!! I altered the recipe, as others suggested, and used 1 cup of butter and no shortening, I added an additional 1/2 cup of peanut butter and 1/2 cup of flour. They don't flatten too much when cooking so you can put a lot on one cookie sheet. I baked for 9 minutes and they don't really look done, but they are. They turned out PERFECT! These were delicious! Great with a glass of milk. I made half plain and added chocolate chips on top of the other half. I posted a picture if interested. Thank you for this recipe...it's a keeper! If you liked these, try the Peanut Butter Cup Cookies recipe.

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2006
WOW!! These are delicious! Better then any blueberry muffin recipe I have tried. I took others advice and used 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. I also used butter instead of shortening and a full tsp of cinnamon. I let them cool until almost cooled and then put them in the fridge before I cut them. I thought the flour mixture was a little too floury but they still turned out perfect! I will definately make these again. Maybe with cherries or apples and walnuts. Thank you for this recipe!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2006
Ok..I added an extra 1/2 cup of blueberries and 1 tsp vanilla. I'm not too sure about these?? They looked great and smelled wonderful (see picture) but the topping was not right and I have had better blueberry muffins. They were good but not "to die for". Next time I will split the topping recipe in half and add melted butter to make it easier to sprinkle and give it more of a "crumble" topping. But until then I don't think this recipe deserves 5 stars.

Florida Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2006
These were definately easy to make. I followed everyone's advise and added an extra 1/2 cup of strawberries and an extra 1/4 tsp of nutmeg. I also added about 1/2 tsp of water to the sugar and strawberries, but I don't think that was neccassary as there was tons of liquid to use. These smelled wonderful and were not too sweet. Only four stars because I personally would have liked them sweeter or maybe with walnuts? I would make them again though. Thanks for this recipe.

Autumn Cheesecake

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2005
Thank you so much for this recipe! It is so delicious and a great change from the ordinary cheesecake. Very unique...tastes wonderful! I have made it 3 times and it is ALWAYS a hit. I doubled the filling. This time, I used walnuts instead of pecans, drained juice from apples before putting on mixture. I also mixed 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour and a handful of walnuts and melted butter and sprinkled over apples. I used a 10 inch pan and baked for 70 minutes in a water bath.
