Easy Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
Not a hit at our house, I'm not sure if it's supposed to or if I done something wrong but the meat was sweet, too sweet. I followed the recipe to the letter, but is not for our taste. I plan to pull the rest of the leftovers apart shred it up and make bbq sandwiches so the roast won't go to waste.

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
This was really good, my hubby liked it very well and so did I, I gave it 4 *'s cause I think the next time I make it I will double the brown sugar, mustard, and ketchup and put a little in the meat mix, and cut the mild down by half just to give the meat a little more zest. Bake time was right on, and it did taste very good. Thanks for sharing.

Amish Macaroni Salad

This is great! The celery really tastes good in this recipe. I used 1c. mayo and 1c. Miracle Whip, sweet relish, and I cut the sugar down to like 2tbsp it was perfect for us, tangy and sweet at the same time. Hubby and kids liked it, will make again.

Angel Food Cake III

This is a beautiful, moist, light, very tasty cake. My 5 and 7 yr old boys loved it plain. Easy to make, eggs should be at room temp. so they seperate easily. The next time I make it I'm going to do 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp almond extracts. Thanks for the recipe.

Taco Seasoning I

It was great, I'm another that will never go back to packets for taco season. 3 Tbs. is = to 1 pack store brand. I doubled it for 2 lbs ground beef, browned added 3/4c. water and season mix. Our taco salads were great. Thanks for the recipe.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
These are great little cookies. My kids and I had a blast making them. I didn't change anything, we rolled up about 1 in. balls and flattened them a little in our palms then sprinkled with red and green sugar, baked exactly 12 mins in my oven. *A little baking tip when using stick butter 12 Tbsp = 2/3c. and 14 Tbsp = 3/4c.* Thanks for the recipe.

Dill Dip III

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
It was good, a little strong for some reason? I cut it in 1/2 all but the season salt and only added 1tsp. I served it at a party last night and people didn't devour it like my last dip so thats why 3 stars. I wouldn't discourage people from trying this though, It may have been just something I did wrong. Thanks

Creole Seasoning Blend

I expected this to be a little spicier than it was, that's the reason for 4 stars. Easy to put together, and had a nice mild flavor will definatly make again adding a little more hot to it. Thanks.

Cajun Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
These were very good, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because we were expecting it to be a little spicier. Had a nice mild flavor, recipe followed to the letter. Easy enough to make, I also made 5 good sized chops and still had enough season to cover at least 2 more. I will make again. Thanks.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
This was a great pie, I used my favorite crust recipe from this site (Best Ever Pie Crust)everything turned out beautifully. My 4yr old had a blast helping me put the latic on the top. I will admit I made 2 little changes I added 1 1/2 tsp. of Apple Pie Spice (spices being 1/2t. Cinnamon, 1/2t. All Spice, and 1/2t. Nutmeg), and instead of pouring the sauce down over top of the pie I poured it over my apples in a lg bowl and turned to coat them then put it all in the pie shell together. The cook time was spot on accurate. We couldn't help ourselves we had to cut the pie while it was warm, I was really surprised it held it's shape beautifully. This is definatly going in my recipe book. Thanks for the great pie.

Really good! I used Italian Bread crumbs (3/4c.) instead of bread. We ate all but a slice, my husband loved it. Serves well with smashed potatoes and corn. Will make it again. Thanks.

Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
This was super easy and tasted great. The celery was the biggest surprise for me :) It was so good and gave the beef a wonderful smell and flavor. I followed the recipe to the letter until I got to the brown sugar. I read the other reviews and thought I'd play it by taste to see what it might need instead of just giving it the full 1/4 c. I'm so glad I waited it didn't need it at all. My hubby commented that it was sweet but over all he really liked it and it was a definate hit with the kids. I'm really excited this was the 1st time I didn't use a canned sloppy joe mix, and I don't think I will ever again. Thanks!

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2008
This is a great bread recipe. I didn't make rolls just into a bread that was beautiful. The only thing I done diffrently is brush the top with egg white before baking and with butter after baking. The times for raising was spot on and bake time was just right. TIP: put your oven on the lowest temp and let the top of your stove get warm it's a perfect place to raise breads. My husband and kids loved it. I will make this again. Thanks

Cone Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
These are great! Served at my son's 6th birthday party, the kids went wild for them. I used milk chocolate cake mix and a combo of chocolate and white fluffy icing, the kids like the chocolate and the adults enjoyed the white icing. The cones were nice and crunchy really good. I did have to use 2 cake mixes to make 24 cupcakes and had enough left over for a small 2 layer. Worth making!!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2008
These are great meatballs! I have a big family so I tripled the recipe put fresh garlic in place of the powder, added a little onion powder to the mixture. They held their shape and was nice and firm with a little chew to them. The sauce is super easy and the longer it simmered the better it tasted. I didn't have the best pot for the job so I had to stir it alot to keep it from scortching on the bottom. We are also big mushroom eaters so I added that to the sauce didn't change the taste. My family loved it and we plan to use the few leftovers for dinner tonight and make grinders. I can't wait. Oh yeah I too was nervous about the meat not being precooked but they cooked up very well I simmered mine for 45 mins just because I had so many and they were all done. Thanks for a great recipe.

Scalloped Potatoes I

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
Ok this is another easy one with great flavor. I doubled and followed others advise a can of mushroom soup, a can of cheddar cheese soup and 1/2 c. milk, 1 tsp. garlic powder, and definetly salt to taste. My family ate almost a whole 9x13 pan. The cheese on top made a yummy thin crust on top, and it did have to bake for an hour on 375. Absolutly will make again and again and recommend it to anyone. Thanks

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2008
5 stars isn't enough for this one. WOW!! I used boneless skinless chicken breast and cut it into nice thick strips, followed the recipe perfectly. My 6 yr. old son ate 6 strips and ask if I would make it for lunch tomorrow. My husband raved and I thought it was great. It turned out beautiful, crisp, just plain yummy. Will definetly make again and again. Thanks for the recipe.
