T Bird's Beef Jerky

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
well.. I'm surprised it has lasted through the drying process without being attacked and eaten raw.. I was prepared to rate it last night before it got into the oven, the marinade itself smells heavenly. I did not have italian dressing mix, only an italian seasoning grinder mix which was amazing in it too. Super, super recipe, if this rating had 10 stars I'd give it 11!

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
I guess I can't use expletives... so I'll just say that these are the best pancakes ever, and I didn't even have buttermilk! I just added about 2tbls lemon juice to the buttermilk "milk" portion of the recipe. It got rave reviews from my daughters friend spending the night, and she is pretty picky! yum!

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
Made this the other day, and just finished the leftovers reheated in the oven.. which are just as excellent as they were two days ago. I read alot of the reviews, and followed the recipe to a "tee" with one exception. I didn't have french bread, just plain jane wal-mart white, which I left the crusts on and doubled for the 1" thick slices. I left all the eggs in and whipped them well with the half and half, which I believe now is critical for the texture of this recipe; as is letting it sit in the fridge overnight for it to appropriately soak the bread. If it is baked correctly and not overdone, the texture AND TASTE mimics the fluffy jiggly nature of real creme brulee. WONDERFUL RECIPE!!

Fresh Salsa

This salsa is awesome. The fresh cilantro is to die for, and the jicama really does make the difference. I will make this over and over as it is easy and wonderful. THANKS for the great recipe!

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2008
This recipe is PERFECT! I didn't have a doughnut cutter, so I just used a floured glass to cut the circles. My mom told me later I could have used a thimble for the holes... oh well. They were perfect anyway. My only mistake was that after I cut them and was letting them rise again, I should have left them where they lay on the floured board, instead I had the (not so) genius idea of putting some of them on cookie sheets to place in my warm oven. They rose nicely, but died when I tried to unstick them from the pan. The ones left on the floured board turned out better than store bought. This is also an all day affair, but so worth it in the end! Awesome recipe!!

Fruit-Topped Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
I didn't have the fruit for the topping, but made the pancake recipe this morning. WOW! These pancakes rock. The only thing I should have done was scaled it down for my husband, daughter and I, because we ended up with about 18 pancakes.. to which half of it I added blueberries. Awesome recipe!

Zucchini Pie II

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2008
I keep having to remind myself that I baked this pie with zucchini and not apples. It is impossible to tell the difference. I used the struesel topping as per another users rating, and prepared my own pie crust and it was the best pie I've ever tasted! The best part is that my husband is allergic to apples... not zucchini!! He gives it 12 out of 10 as well! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS RECIPE!!!!!!

Beer Roasted Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2007
The chicken fell apart around the can when it was done, melt in your mouth tender and wonderfully juicy with a hint of lime. The drippings are as good as the chicken and make a wonderful gravy. Awesome recipe, and so easy! Goes great with the rest of the beer.....
