Cabbage Beef Soup

Excellent recipe. Used cannelli beans instead of kidney beans as that's what I had on hand plus added some garlic as that's what I do, but followed the recipe exactly otherwise. Very hearty and very tasty!!!!!

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Great concept!! I skip the brown sugra, though, and instead brush on some barbecue sauce. Also, if you're in a hurry, you can toss these under the broiler.

Excellent sauce and easy to prepare. Used it on chicken tenders for a Christmas Party, and it was a hit. Thanks for sharing.

Pasta e Fagioli II

Reviewed: May 10, 2006
Excellent recipe. As I took this to a party, I added the pasta right in. You wouldn't want to let it sit too long, though, as the pasta would likely absorb the broth. The taste was superb, and I received many compliments. One Italian friend even commented that it was just like his grandmother used to make.

Irish Egg Rolls

Reviewed: May 10, 2006
Great recipe, especially for something different. Took them to a party, and they were a hit. Used Thousand Island dressing for a dipping sauce. I made them right from scratch, which was more work than some of the shortcuts noted. But it still wasn't too bad, as I simply tossed ingredient after ingredient through the food processor. Thanks for sharing!!!!

Savory Garlic Marinated Steaks

This was among the best marinades that I have ever had. I took the advice of other reviewers, and marinaded NY Strip for about five hours. It came out absolutely tremendous. Definitely will make again.

Cook's Ham Steak with Classic Cherry Glaze

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2006
Definitely a nice glaze; it gave great flavor to the ham steak. I followed the recipe exact, and it turned out great. I did crank the grill up to high right at the end, and gave the steak about a one minute shot on each side. This really crystalized the glaze. Balsamic vinegar could be good on this as well.

Smoked Tuna Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2005
This was good. I took the advice of some other reviewers and cut back on the italian dressing (about half). I also added some grated parmesan cheese (spaghetti cheese) which helped to thicken the dip. It also added some cheesy flavor!!!

Outback Onion Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2005
This is an excellent recipe that I've made many times, with many requests for the recipe. I don't use vidalias, as they are too sweet for this. As far as the clumping flour; remove some of the hot broth to a separate container. Mix in the flour to make a thin paste (use a mixer if necessary). Then add the paste to the soup. This will alleviate the flour lumping.

I followed this recipe per directions, and it came out great!!! Took it to an appetizer party, and it was a hit. Everyone wanted the recipe. Used what little was left on hot dogs. That was great, too!!!
