Beer and Brown Sugar Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
This was amazing! I used Killian's Irish Red beer and doubled the marinade ingredients. We used the leftover boiled marinade as a dipping sauce for the meat. Steak has always been one of those meals I would go out for, since I couldn't make a decent one at home, but not anymore. This rivaled any "steakhouse" steak. Thanks so much for the recipe!

Baked Zucchini Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
These were really good. My hubby even liked them and he's not that fond of zucchini. I think I should have left them in the oven just a little longer, I baked them for 6 mins. per side and sprayed with cooking spray before baking and after flipping. Will definitely make again.

The Best Chicken Salad Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2008
This was SO GOOD!! Even my picky kids loved it. I used the breasts from a store-bought rotisserie chicken, mayo instead of miracle whip (ugh) and carrot instead of the celery since hubby doesn't eat celery. I've been searching for a good chicken salad recipe for years...I found it!!

Golden State Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
I had a subscription to Taste of Home several years ago and made this soup then. It was the best cream of mushroom soup I ever tasted! Unfortunately, I lost the magazine it was in, and have been searching for it ever since. Hallelujah!! This is it!! I plan to make this again over the weekend. And I've also made this without the mushrooms, using slices of Vidalia onion in their place...mmmmm, tastes just like the creamy onion soup from Outback Steakhouse.

Roasted Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 22, 2008
This was very tasty. I followed the suggestion of a few other reviewers and roasted the potatoes with EVOO, the onion, rosemary, garlic, salt & pepper. Thought it could use a little something extra. Next time I may add a little dijon mustard just for a bit more flavor.

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: May 17, 2008
Absolutely delicious! I used all olive oil instead of butter after reading other reviews and dijon mustard since that was all I had. Even after hubby overcooked them slightly on the grill, they were still amazing! I managed to sneak a few into the fridge for tomorrow's lunch....shhhh. :)

Baked Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
I used a 3 lb. boneless ham and marinated it overnight in about a liter of Cherry Coke. The next day I put the ham in the slow cooker along with the liquid and cooked it on low for 4 hours to heat it through. The easiest, best tasting ham I've ever made. This is my ham recipe from now on.
