Baked Teriyaki Chicken

I hate to give bad reviews when I alter the recipe, but the sauce was made the same as directed and was a little too "sour" for us. Tasted more like sweet and sour than teriyaki. My change was to use boneless breast instead of thighs. Not horrible, but will probably not make again.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

This was SO YUMMY!!! My husband now wants it once a month! I did marinate my chicken in soy sauce and seared it in a cast iron skillet, then poured the sauce on top of all sauteed veggies. It's a keeper!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

I don't know what happened, although the flavor was good, the biscuits were a little too dense. They didn't have a fluffy texture. I even mixed by hand, not electric mixer AND sifted dry ingredients. Will try again and NOT refridgerate dough.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

FINALLY a cookie without shortening!!! These were great. My husband said they were the best cookies. They were big, chewy and fluffy at the same time- just like a bakery!!! I did add chocolate chips and pecans in with the raisins. They will be good without the chocolate as well! Thanks for the post!

Oatmeal Pancakes II

These were delicious, I used less salt and 1/4 wheat flour with 1/4 allpurpose flour. Also didn't have buttermilk so I used half and half. Next time I will double the recipe because it only made eight 4-5" in diameter pancakes. We are a family of 5, and it wasn't quite enough! These are my NEW recipe, no more bisquick!!! Thanks!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

DELICIUOS!!! Great texture! Chewy, yet held it's shape. Hard to find a good cookie without shortening- this is IT! This cookie would be great just as is, but I added 1 cup softened raisins, 1/2 cup Chocolate chips and 1/2 cup chopped pecans. YUMMY!!! They are awesome!

Corn Pudding V

SO easy! I added one egg also and topped with cheese. My family gobbled this up. I should have made a bigger pan. I used Jiffy cornbread because we like the sweetness of it.YUMMY!

Caramel Bars

YUMMY!!!! I doubled the "crumb" mixture like most suggested. I also mixed chocolate and butterscoth chips. Next, I will try the caramel in a can. This was delicious!

Pecan Pie V

Although this pie tasted real good, I missed the "chewy" texture of a traditional pecan pie. It was not as sweet as a traditional, and not very pretty to serve. I would suggest topping with pecans to make it look more presentable.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Very Yummy cookie, still a bit "Cakey". I made some by dropping spoonfuls on, and they retained their shape. The next batch, I took a 1/4 cup measure and flattened them out. This made a BIG, FAT, cookie that my hubby ate up! I did keep them in a bit longer because he likes them crunchy on the outside. I'm trying to find a chewy recipe. I'll try the "Best, Big, Fat" cookie recipe from this site next time. This is a GREAT cookie, not "the best," but good enough to make again.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies were Yummy! However, still a little "cakey." They kept their shape great and baked well. A great cookie if you think in terms of store bought cookie cake.

Yakisoba Chicken

My husband and I lived in Japan for 2 years and we LOVE yakisoba. Although this didn't taste exactly how we remember it, it was YUMMY!!!! I did change things a little. I couldn't find soba noodles, so I used bean threads. I didn't have chile paste, so I used thai sweet chile sauce. I also added a can of bean sprouts (drained). I boiled my chicken first and deboned it, then I doubled the recipe. We only had 1 bowl left over. With my family of 5, we gobbled this up! Even my children had second helpings! A Definite keeper!

Addictive Sweet Potato Burritos

Good burritos! I only give recipes a four when they have to be altered a bit. These were GREAT when using 2 cans of black beans instead of 6 cups kidney beans. This was a quick meal that my whole family enjoyed.

Robbi's M&M Cookies

My 11 yr. old made these tonight. They are VERY good. She used hershey's dark kissables instead of M&M's and used 1/2 c butter and 1/2 c shortening as others suggested- hince the 4 instead of 5 star rating. The cookies turned out big and fluffy not flat like the picture. She spooned the dough on with our soup spoon and did not flatten them, so maybe that made a difference. We like our cookies better big and fluffy anyway! ENJOY :)

Gooey Butter Cake III

A BIG hit! I made one with lemon cake mix and one with chocolate cake mix. They LOVED the one with lemon and the chocolate one was great too! UPDATE: I also made this with a spice cake mix- the best so far, I'm not a big fan of cinnamon an pie spices, but this was YUM!

Mardi Gras King Cake

I have lived here in the south ALL my life. We are actually 45 minutes from New Orleans. Down here, we "stuff" our king cakes with srtawberry filling, pineapple, bavarian cream, cream cheese, caramel pecan or you can have it plain- it's your choice. Anyway, this was just OK. Not at all like what you get in the bakery. It so easy to just pick one up during the season than to go through the trouble to make this. If you don't live here, then maybe ignorance is bliss and you'll love it. Sorry- it's my opinion.

Pig Picking Cake III

I made this for my daughter birthday. It was a HUGE hit! I doubled the recipe and made 2 9X13 cakes and layered it. it only needed one batch of frosting. I did beat the oranges in with the mixer to break them up and instead of using water in the cake mix, I used the manadrin orange juice.

Puppy Chow I

Boy did this recipe bring back memories. I thought it was a little dry- as all the cereal didn't get coated. I then realized that I only wrote down 1/2 cup of peanut butter. It definitely needs a full cup. The kids LOVED it. Great party snack!
