The kids loved this-my husband and I thought it was kinda bland-missing something.

Kelly's Chili

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
This was good but like other reviewers I thought it was extremely hot when I taste tested it so I added a can of tomato sauce & a can of chicken broth (then it wasn't hot enough, so I didn't win). I also poached/boiled my chicken instead of frying it to cut that fat from the veg. oil. All in all it was good but need improvement.

Great Grandpa's Garlic Pickles

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
Hi, I am the poster of this recipe and I just wanted to add a note that my grandfather's original recipe called for just red peper (not flakes) but after seeing the recipe here I tried it with the red pepper flakes and thought it was great that way too!

Chili Mac Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
This was a really yummy, throw-together recipe! I added/changed a few things to fit what I had on hand...I only had about one pound meat (ground turkey) so I doubled the macaroni. I used stewed tomatoes instead of just regular diced & I used 1 can light red & 1 can dark red kidney beans. I also cut the chilies in half because I knew my kiddos wouldn't eat it if it was too hot. And they loved it! This was actually the first time I've been able to get them to eat kidney beans! Oh yeah, I also added a can of corn just to get an extra veggie in there! Thanks for the great recipe!

Classic Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2008
I (we) LOVED THIS! The only problem I had was it was kinda runny so after reading many other recipes I decided to add in 1 (16 oz.) container of sour cream and it was perfect, nice & creamy! I also used red onion & instead of a whole green pepper I used 1/2 red pepper & 1/2 green pepper. Thanks so much for the recipe, I told my husband we will never again buy store made macaroni salad!

Aunt Dot's Brunswick Stew

This was an ok base recipe, I used chicken broth instead of water & cut out the bacon & salts. Needs a little fine tuning, I'll have to make some changes next time...

Pasta with Broccoli and Bacon

I thought that was pretty good...I made it with turkey bacon though & the turkey bacon is a different texture than regular bacon so DH didn't care too much for it.

Talerine

I loved this and I was actually how great it was! It seems too simple! I did some small variations so I could use up some ingredients I already had on hand. Here's what I did...used ground turkey instead of beef, added 1 clove minced garlic, a can of tomato sauce, deiced tomatoes instead of stewed, celery salt, pepper & also cooked the noodles on the side. Next time I think I will ad the corn & black olives though.

Yum! I just made these! This was great for a quick last minute dinner! I used ground turkey & I had no celery so I used celery salt and omitted the salt. Great recipe my family loved it!

Loosemeat Sandwiches III

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2006
These are a regular meal at our house now, especially when I don't feel like cooking--these are easy to throw together....I use chicken broth instead of the water & used no salt. The Worcestershire Sauce (like other stated) is a great addition too! This also freezes well.

JENNIE-O's Best Ever Meatloaf

This really is the "Best Ever Meatloaf"! Not soupy at all & works great with ground beef, chuck also! I usually make one with turkey (for me) and one with beef (for my husband).

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
This was good, I did do alot of altering though, after reading other reviews. Also, I am not a "beef eater" so I used ground turkey instead, and needed to use the onion soup packets (since the condensed soup is made with beef broth)....Like alot of the other reviewers, I did think it was too ketchupy, and when I make it again I will cut out that part totally. I also used chicken broth instead of the water. I seen alot of other reviews complained that it was falling apart during cooking...I think the problem was they were cooking on too low of a heat.
