About this Cook
My name is Nadina. I am from a very small town in the heart of the snowbelt. I am married to a wonderful man and we have two adorable children. Mekaylie age 8 and Nathon age 5. I love to cook, scrapbook and have fun with my family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook pasta dishes, experiment with new recipes and make cute, kid friendly desserts. Presentation is everything! I am always looking for creative ways to serve and display food!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to make a good breakfast casserol for Christmas morning. I wake up, throw it in the oven and then I can enjoy gift opening with my family. When we are done, the casserol is hot and ready to eat! Extra note, santa cuts all of the toys out of their box and puts batteries in the toys, then puts them back in the box and wraps the gifts. This way when my kids open their gifts on Christmas, my husband and I are not assembling, cutting, and fighting all of those toys out of their box while we should be enjoying and taking pictures of them. What a great way to RELAX and enjoy Christmas morning!!
My cooking triumphs
I am still trying to become a better cake decorator! I have tons of cake pictures here but when it comes to a solid plain frosted cake, I have trouble getting a smooth, white base. I always havecake crumbs peeking through!
My cooking tragedies
I have a picture posted of these adorable deviled egg chicks. I tried to present them cute using fake Easter grass. The grass stuck to the egg filling like glue! When I served them, we were laughing and pulling Easter grass out of these eggs before we could eat them!! Live and learn!!

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic
This is a super dish! One hint is to defrost your chicken breast, then put them into a ziplock bag and pound them thin! Then dredge them in the flour and continue with the recipe. It makes the chicken tender, moist and delicious!

Spicy Slow Cooker Black Bean Soup
I made this soup for my husband and his dad. I used 4 cans of black beans instead of the dry. They RAVED at the flavorful broth and spicy kick! Since then, I have experimented with adding italian sausage. It is a keeper in our house!!

Chocolate Chip Muffins
I made these muffins for "snack day" at my son's kindergarten. Everyone raved at how moist and delicious they were. I added 1/2 cups milk and 1/2 cup sour cream. I used mini chocolate chips and made mini muffins. They had to bake about 10 minutes, and they were perfect.
