I have an extensive cookbook collection that is getting out of control but I love to learn and try new recipes. I'm constantly watching the food network which drives my husband crazy. I'm in my early 30's and I'm married with no children but have 2 furry kids(cats). Since we don't have a large household it sometimes makes it hard to find recipes where I won't end up with a ton of leftovers so during the week I just make simple meals like salads, chicken breasts or one pot meals. But on the weekends we love to have people over to share a great meal with and we'll go all out with decadent foods and dessert. I've recently started to get more into photography and have really enjoyed taking pictures of the foods that I have made from this site.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts!!!!! -of any kind. I love to bake. Almost every weekend I try a couple of new recipes and then I share the goodies with my friends, extended family or co-workers since it's just my hubby and me.
My cooking triumphs
I guess my baked goods would be my triumphs. I love to get compliments and love to bring a smile to someones face with a sweet treat. I'm often asked to bring goodies to work for staff meetings or during the holidays.
My cooking tragedies
I have had many and it's the worst when you try a new recipe on company and it doesn't quite turn out like you had imagined it would. My most recent one was the lemon pound cake I had made for a dinner with my parents. The rest of the meal was fantastic thankfully but when I went to cut into the cake it was not completely cooked. It sure looked like it from the outside and my toothpick had come out clean but it was definitely not done. Luckily I had some ice cream in the freezer and so we had that instead! :-)
