About this Cook
My cooking tragedies
The first meal I prepared for my family when I was a teenager. Every single dish was a disaster. I don't remember all the details, but I still recall the stale walnuts in the dessert. Important lessons learned: (i) Don't use too many complicated recipes. (ii) Quality ingredients are very important. (iii) Special occasions are not the best time to try a new recipe. :)

Seven Layer Dinner
This is very similar to the "Seven Layer Dinner" recipe passed on to me by my mother. It's a great cold weather, filling meal. Our version uses browned ground beef instead of sausage. Also, I use frozen peas with water instead of canned.
