Chicken and Broccoli Braid

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
Just made this and we loved it. My husband says this one is a keeper! I followed the directions exactly, baking time was right on at 25 minutes, It was a beautiful golden brown perfectly done on the inside. I would not change a thing. Thanks to the reviewer that gave the paintshop instructions on how to do the braiding...otherwise i might have made a mess of it! Beautiful presentation.

Blackberry Cobbler II

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
I tried this recipe because it was so much easier that rolling out the dough as I usually do, and the reviews were so good...but My family and I didn't care for this. The crust was cakey, so this is probably personal preference. We like the rolled crusts with some strips dropped in the berries before cooking. This was kind of dry, not juicy. Sorry, but I will stay with my own cobbler.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
This recipe did not dissapoint. My son is a Marine and he and some of his fellow Marines wanted prime rib at home before they were deployed in October. I bought a $120 prime, so I was counting on this recipe! I am not an experienced prime rib cook to say the least! Thanks, your recipe and instructions saved me (and the rib) and helped to make three Marines very happy!

I was dissapointed in these. I thought they lacked a good peanut butter flavor, and so did my family. Sorry.

This is very very good. I follow the recipe exactly sometimes, and other times I had some penne pasta to the sauce. Either way it is excellent.

Oatmeal Cranberry White Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
Excellent! I added some slivers of macadamia nuts just because I happen to have about a 1/2 cup left over from another recipe. These were good, very good. I think they are a very good cookie for gifts or taking somewhere, just special.

Venison Stew II

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
Just made this today, and my oh my it is a keeper! Wonderful taste and aroma. I had the time, so I just slow cooked it on top of the stove all day. I was afraid 3 onions were too many and since mine were BIG, I decided to use only 2. I have to say now it came out perfect but another onion would not have hurt. I also used carrots instead of parsnips cause that's just what I had on hand. I also added a few shakes of crushed red pepper because we like spicy. Again, it is a great stew! Thanks for the recipe.

Lemon-Cranberry Mini Loaves

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
Very pretty and unique. I like the idea of the cranberrieds in the lemon loaf, but it just left something to be desired for me. The sugar didn't dissolve well in the lemon juice so I heated the juice and sugar in the microwave for 35 seconds and this worked perfectly. I also added the glaze while still in the pan after the first one. Adding it after it is taken out was just a little too messy and I lost some of the glaze that way. But poking the holes and pouring it on the warm loaf still in the pan worked great. It still came out of the pan okay.

Texas Sheet Cake I

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
This is a "wow" factor chocolate cake, and since my husband is a chocoholic I know something about chocolate cakes! I make a lot of them! I did add a little extra milk as I was mixing up the icing, but no big deal. That happens a lot with this kind of icing...next time 5 T may be just the right amount! The icing has a rich and very smooth consistency and it looks beautiful. It would be a great icing for a layer cake, not to mention it has a very smooth chocolately taste as well. The cake is moist (didn't over mix it) and the flavor is really good. 5 stars for sure.

Sauerkraut Pork Supper

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
I made this today and let me tell you it is soooo very good. I usually make saurkraut and pork roast, and my family really likes it. But it was just okay. This recipe is tops. The flavors are wonderful, the added veggies and spices are perfect. My family raved about this. I followed the recipe exactly, except I cooked it on top of the stove in a large covered pan. I cooked it a long time on medium low heat. Thanks for the recipe.

Turkey Potato Tetrazzini

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
Great casserole for left over turkey. So easy, but looks and taste like I spent more time than I did. I had a 16 oz package of broccoli so I used it all, and used more turkey than the recipe called for because I wanted to use what I had up. Next time I will salt the turkey a little before mixing it. This is real comfort food, has a wonderful taste and looks pretty. Thanks for the recipe! I will be making this one again.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
This is a wonderful chocolate cake and to date my family's favorite. I use vanilla instead of the amaretto (family preference) and also use a tube pan..it overflows in a bundt. Comes out perfect! I also use the "satiny glaze" recipe that can be found on this site on top. I pour it on while the dake is still warm...boy oh boy a yummy gourmet cake.
