The birth of our daughter made us a family of three and I'm excited about cooking for my growing family, especially making my own baby food. I think I'm getting the hang of basic dinners, but I am still hoping to add more variety to our diet than I had growing up!
My favorite things to cook
Definitely dinner. It's the one meal we all eat together and as Baby Girl gets older, I'm hoping to avoid a picky eater, so I'm trying to make as many different foods as I can.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't know if it's a favorite, but it's certainly a family tradition to make a ton more food than the people present could EVER eat. I've been trying so hard to make smaller meals, but it's just not in my genes.
My cooking triumphs
Just about all the recipes I've tried on here have been absolutely fantastic. My greatest triumph so far is simply not being as bad at this as I thought I'd be!
My cooking tragedies
I don't know if it was really a tragedy, but I was making the Mashed Sweet Potatoes, and for some reason I didn't think to lower the oven rack before I put it under the broiler and 2 minutes later, the whole dish (marshmallows) was on FIRE! I was screaming, and I panicked, not knowing what to do. Luckily, Chad was home and helped me out - hopefully that'll be the last time I almost burn the house down!
