Chocolate Covered Brownie Bites

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I made these with white chocolate but the chocolate sauce was too thin. Next time I'll use less sweetened condensed milk.

Peppermint Snowballs

These are pretty and taste great but mine look nothing like the picture. They came out very flat. Next time I'll use cake flour and see if that helps.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This was delicious! It was my first turkey and I was determined to do it right - no dried out turkey for my family! I brined the turkey for about 14 hours and then followed these instructions to season it, although I altered the rosemary mixture a little bit. I poured 2 cups of chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan (rather than a 1/4 inch of water). I basted the turkey every 30 minutes or so during cooking and added water a few times. Everyone agreed that the turkey was really moist and flavorful. This is the only turkey recipe I'll ever need.

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
This was really good. It tastes exactly like you would expect orange juice and cranberries to taste. I think next time I'll do 3/4 c orange juice and 1/4 c water to tone down the orange juice flavor.

Picnic Slaw

I didn't add carrots, green onions, or parsley but it was still really good. Next time I'll make sure I have all the ingredients - I'm sure it'll be even better.

Challah I

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
I followed this recipe with no additions or deletions and it was really good. I wasn't so sure it would turn out that way, though. Eight cups of flour was not enough for me - I must've added two additional cups to the dough to get it to the right consistency. It also took a long time to rise - 2 1/2 hours instead of 1 1/2.

Herbal Tuna Salad

My husband and I will never go back to plain tuna and mayo. This is delicious. The dill weed and rosemary are what 'make' it.

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
This tasted really good but it's not exactly something I want to serve my family for dinner. As I was putting it together I realized that it's basically nachos in casserole format. I think it's more of a party/potluck-type dish.

This was really good but too salty. Next time I'll use just 1-2 tablespoons of soy sauce.

This was a lot tastier than I expected - I think the wine was key. I served it over cous cous. Delicious!

Pesto Sauce

This was easy to make and I liked that I didn't have to use pine nuts (walnuts are so much cheaper!). Plain, I didn't think this tasted like anything special. However, once it was combined with chicken, it was delicious!

Carrot and Fennel

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
I needed to use the fennel I got with my CSA so I made this. It was really easy and really good. I used half-and-half instead of cream and needed >1/3 cup. I'll definitely make this again the next time I have fennel to use.

I didn't have peppercorns so I left that out. I had to cook longer than recipe called for - maybe 4 minutes per side? I don't remember.
