I started cooking at a young age and haven't stopped since. In 2006, both myself & my husband had gastric bypass surgery and now my cooking habits are very different. I still bake alot, but mainly it's for other people. What I do enjoy is taking a recipe and seeing if I can adapt it to our new way of eating.
My favorite things to cook
I am all about desserts, but I enjoy cooking just about anything. I enjoy down home recipes. None of the foo foo food that takes expensive gourmet ingredients. I like to keep things simple, but good.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like to get together with my sister-in-law and cook for the family at holidays. My sister-in-law used to own a restaurant and it was always great fun to go there and cook in her kitchen with the family.
My cooking triumphs
I have now won 5 blue ribbons at my county fair. 3 from this past year alone (2007).
