About this Cook
I am a mother of 8 and have been married 24 years. My husband and I both come from large families so cooking for a crowd is a habit.
My favorite things to cook
Anything Pennsylvania Dutch(its part of my heritage)some southern dishes, slow cooker recipes, and any type of main dish casserole or bake that can be cooked in the oven since it doesn't pay for me to use a pan smaller than a 9x13 pan or casserole dish.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pennsylvania Dutch, southern,(my husband is from W.V.A and Italian.(my mother said you make a big pot of sauce and you are set for the week.)
My cooking triumphs
Learning to cook with venison after I was first married. And finally learning how to season up ground turkey since it tends to be a bland substitute for ground beef.but it is cheaper here.
My cooking tragedies
I could never get the hang of making cut out sugar cookies without making them taste like dog biscuits.Until a friend gave me her grandmothers recipe. Don't know why but these worked for me.

American Girl's Peach Cobbler
I use frozen peaches and all milk instead of milk/fruit juice in the batter, Which should not make that much difference in the dexture and flavor of the cobbler crust. This recipe has never failed me.

Brazilian Collards
These greens are sooooo good! I can't believe that there are only 5 reviews for this dish. If I could I would give this ten stars. Definetly a keeper in my book.

Easy Coq Au Vin
Coq Au Vin is a very good recipe. It does surprise me though that several of the reviewers were either put off or least surprised by the purple color that the wine gave the chicken. When using red wine,What other color were you expecting?
