Ok... I followed the recipe exactly, except I doubled it for a pot luck at work. Mine wound up looking nothing like the picture. Instead, it had the texture of Thanksgiving dressing - kind of mushy. As far as the taste, it was quite good. I loved it, but I didn't receive the compliments on this dish like I have on others I've taken to work. No one asked for the recipe, except for one person. It's a very savory dish in my opinion.

Many, many compliments when I made this cobbler and I even used frozen blackberries. Easy and delicious. Want to make again using blueberries.

Messy, but great. I followed the directions to a T and we loved every bite. I think the next time I make it I'll pour 3/4 of the mixture over the apples, then do the lattice and then top with the remaining mixture. Oh, I only used 7 apples as I thought 8 would be too many. Turns out I could have used the 8th one since the pie really cooks down. Even my mother said it was wonderful.
