About this Cook
I'm married to a military man and we love Guam so much that we took a second tour here and hope to retire here as well. In the meantime, we love to travel and have been all over Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. Our favorite tourist activity is hitting the grocery stores to find new foods to try.
My favorite things to cook
Soups and stews, Indian food, Southern cooking. I'm still building a cookbook of favorites for the kids as they're a little funny about what makes food 'good'.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Instead of making a traditional holiday meal, we like to take turns choosing something different. For thanksgiving last year, we had spaghetti and blueberry pie, as requested by a six year old.
My cooking triumphs
My son helped me bake some banana mini-muffins for his lunchbox, and they were so good that he only got to take them to school one day before they were gone!
My cooking tragedies
My husband will eat darn near anything, so I've only had a few disaster meals that even he didn't like, and none of them were from recipes on this site.

Chicken Hurry
Quick, easy, and the kids loved it. I used a dozen or so drumsticks and had plenty of sauce to cover all.

Crazy Crust Pizza Dough
I've made this twice so far this week (using one egg and adding more flour, flipping halfway through cooking), and it came out great both times. The second time, I added some fresh shredded basil and parmesan cheese, which complemented my toppings very nicely. This crust makes a tasty last-minute pizza.

Ham and Bean Chili
This recipe was an ok way to use up some leftover ham, but it wasn't a hit with the family. It just seemed a little bland.
