About this Cook
I love to cook and bake. Every new recipe is an adventure. I enjoy trying new recipes and LOVE Allrecipes! I enjoy having my little ones help in the kitchen and contributing to our special family mealtime.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts, Salads, Mexican and Italian food
My favorite family cooking traditions
Each year, my mom, sister, and myself cook Thanksgiving dinner together. We also get together in early December for a huge Cookie & Candy making day. The day is filled with our favorites, like mom's Peanut Brittle, Mexican Wedding Cookies, Peanut Butter Balls and Date Pinwheels, along with new recipes we want to try. We each leave with huge boxes of cookies to pass along to friends and to take to holiday parties.
My cooking triumphs
I enjoy making beautiful and delicious trifles, and easy desserts that look gorgeous. I also enjoy FUN cupcakes. My hubby loves my Caribbean Pot Roast, Shrimp Creole, and Strawberry Spinach Salad. I have successfully duplicated my mom's famous buttercream frosting, which is amazing!
My cooking tragedies
Microwave Peanut Brittle. I guess my microwave is flaky, but mine always burns! I do not own a frydaddy and prefer to stay away from items that have to be fried in lots of oil/grease. Those never turn out for me!

Mini Ham And Cheese Rolls
This was really good and a hit at the party! I subbed dijon mustard and cheddar cheese. Delish and too easy!

Texas Caviar I
Everyone loved it! Tangy and perfect. Don't skimp on the fresh cilantro.

Creamy Pimento Cheese
This is so good! I added a pinch of cayenne pepper for a bit of heat. I love this recipe since it has no "processed cheese food" in the ingredients.
