Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
We made these 2x this weekend. The first time i only use 1.5 sticks of butter and didn't get the choc. top put on right away. We thought they were dry. The next batch we made exact as recipe said. They need something, maybe a litte layer of Peanut butter between the bottom & top layer ? They were ok. Easy to make. The kids had fun making and eating them.

I'm still searching for the perfect fluffy pancake recipe. I made these exactly as the recipe reads. They were ok, kinda heavy. My hubby asked me " what's wrong with these pancakes" . So we will keep looking. Thanks.

These were good, but to us they needed a little something added to the flavor. They are good heated the next day or in a sandwich too. thanks.

Cornbread Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
Our first pancakes were very thin, so we added 1/2 c. more flour. These pancakes do not get light & fluffy. They are a heavier pancake. My family wasn't crazy about them. If you like cornmeal flavor you will like these, you can definitely taste the cornmeal. Thanks.

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2009
We omitted the salt and added sugar in it's place. The first two cakes were kind of flat, so we just added a little more flour. We love butter and brown sugar on our pancakes. These were good. Thanks.

Ginny's Cheezy Macaroni

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
Our macaroni was already cooked before i looked for a recipe. So i just used 2 cups of milk & added 1 egg. Then put all into a 8 X 11 inch pan and baked for 30 minutes. Could have a stronger flavor. Next time i will use an extra sharp cheese. thanks

Fresh Cherry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Good flavor . I used 1/4 cup butter as suggested instead of the 1/2 c. Sprinkled a little cinnamon on top. It seems like there is alot of cake for only 2 cups of cheries. So next time i am going to try 4 cups cherries. Maybe some almond extract mixed into the cherries too? I baked it in a 8 X 8 inch glass baking pan. We liked this and will be making it again. Thanks.

Sweetly Stewed Rhubarb

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
This isn't really what i was looking for. The flavor was ok, but it was way to thin for us. So i ended up simmering & low boiling for 3.5 hrs to get the recipe a bit thicker. Then we just ate it warm.

Bacon and Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
This Bacon and Macaroni Salad recipe we will be using all summer long for picnics & parties. The first time we made this i left the chopped tomato & cucumber on the side so you could add how much your personal preference was. The next time we made this we mixed all the ingredients together ( except the green olives, we didn't have any ) and added paprika to the top. I would like to try this recipe with black olives. We served the salad on lettuce leaves and people were cutting the lettuce and eating that right with the salad. We will be using this recipe alot , so we will get many chances to try different twist. Thanks for the cool recipe!

Old-Fashioned Scalloped Corn

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
The recipe was easy to make, but tasted like plain corn .... kinda bland. I even read the reviews and added bread crumbs and some grated parmesan cheese on top. If i try it again i will add some spices of some kind,to give it some flavor. I'll stick with baked corn for now. Thanks.

Chocolate Brittle Surprise

GREAT.! A bit hard on my teeth, but super candy anyway. I used 1/2 C. Butter & 1/2 C. margarine. Single layer of saltine crackers on foil in a 9" X 13" cookie sheet. Baked 17 minutes until bubbling , but not burnt. We didn't have any choc chips so i used 1 1/2 C. Melting chocolate waffers. Melted them in the microwave then poured over cracker mixture , they worked Super great. Pressed the pecans into Choc. Placed in freezer 10 minutes, cracked Very easy. Thanks for this recipe !

Roasted Easter Ham

Good. We didn't have any maple syrup so i just used more brown sugar. I also added 2 Tbsp Horseradish. We liked the flavor. Only trouble was the outside got very brown and hard. We needed to remove the outer skin to get into the great meat. Next time i will cover with a foil tent for half the cooking time. Thanks.
