Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings
This recipe was so yummy! My husband raved, and my 3 year old and 11 mo. old even ate it! I did take other reviewers suggestions, and added a 14.5 oz. can of chicken broth instead of just plain water. Next time I might do half water, half chicken broth, as it did make it VERY rich. I seasoned the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder and poultry seasoning before adding to the crock pot. I also flattened and then cut biscuits into strips before adding to the crock pot. Major difference that I think needs to be changed in this recipe, is to definitely add your biscuit dough 2-3 hours before eating, NOT 30 min. They would still be dough at the 30 min. mark. I did occssionally sink the biscuit pieces down into the broth just to get them cooking better. Overall, awesome easy recipe and one that is going into my "most often used" recipe book. Super comfort food!

Fresh Strawberry Pie I
Yum, yum, yum! We LOVE this recipe! I just finished making another two pies for Memorial Day tomorrow. I made this recipe exactly as written, except I cut up the berries instead of leaving them whole. It still makes a very pretty pie. I guess it's a matter of personal taste, but I disagree with those reviewers who said you need to double the gelatin part. I think it's absolutely perfect like it is. You get such a great focus on your fresh strawberries, and not so much on the gelatin. I was actually worried about it the first time, that there wouldn't be enough to hold the pies together, but after setting for a few hours, they were perfect. Just enough, and not too much. Like I said, we love this recipe and definitely consider it a keeper! Thanks, Janice!

Baked Potato Soup
This was a very tasty soup. I should probably rate it five stars, as my almost 2-yr-old actually ate it, which is really saying something! He loved it, and kept saying "yum"! I did not have half n half on hand, so made it with whole milk, and it was great. Did add another tbl. of flour whisked into the milk before adding to the rest. Also cut back on the basil as other reviewers stated...just personal preference. Loaded it with cheese, the bacon crumbles, and sliced green onions to serve. Delicious! Definitely a keeper. Oh, and I didn't think about dinner until about 2:30pm, so microwaved my two potatoes for 8 min., peeled them, threw everything in the crockpot, and cranked it up on high for 3.5 hrs. Worked out perfectly, and I didn't have to be inside managing the soup! Perfect for busy parents. Thanks for a great recipe!
