I love to bake! I've been into cake decorating since I was 12 years old, and I'm a self-taught baker. I can cook, but I don't really enjoy it. Cookies, cakes, pies. I started making my own candies (with homemade filling). Actually, I'm starting my own. For Christmas, I've added linzer tart cookies and rainbow cookies to the family tradition. Since graduating college, I've been experimenting with more than drop cookies and cakes. I've made several pies (though I still cannot make a top crust that doesn't break apart). My biggest triumph is I've made two wedding cakes (both in 2005). The year 2005 marked my worst baking year--several failed cookies, cakes and pies. I made my Christmas fudge recipe 3 times before getting it right! It wasn't until the 4th time that I realized I was cooking the sugar too high.
