This was a nice side dish to broiled salmon. Not very heavy and tasted good, though nothing exceptional.

Apple Oatmeal Cookies II

We are on the heart healthy diet so I thought this would be a big treat. I was very wrong, Cookies were bland and not crispy at all. I cooked extra time, but they were just really bad. Sorry.

Cabin Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2006
My husband and I are on a new health kick. This was wonderful. I dislike kidney beans in sooooo many ways, but this was really really good. I made exactly as stated. I put in on tortilla chips and a litte "veggie" shredded cheese. When the tortilla chips sofentened, it was really good. I served it with baked salmon in virgin olive oil and seasoning. Hubby is getting it for the 3rd time now. Excellet!

Cathy's Creamy Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2006
This had a really good flavor, the sauce was excellent. I made it in the afternoon and let sit in the fridge for a few hours. I did not see adding butter on top of the sauce, so I omitted that step. Served over egg noodles. This recipe makes alot, so will be eating for lunch the next few days. Definatly will make this again.

Blue Cheese Burgers

These burgers were good, but not the greatest. I used only 1 lb. ground beef and 4 oz. blue cheese. They were a nice change.

Tantalizingly Tangy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2006
I have never been a big fan of meatloaf, but I deceided to try this one b/c of the reviews. It was still meatloaf. I added chopped onion, chopped green bell pepper, Liption onion soup mix, more garlic and decreased the amount of brown sugar. I also doubled the recipe. If you love meatloaf, then this is a good one. It is just not my favorite thing to eat. My husband loved it.

Amish Yumazuti

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
This was OK. It was filling but nothing great. Added 1 extra can of mushroom soup in the layers. Also added more cheese and salt, pepper, and garlic powder in the beef. I really like garlic. The cheese needs to be put on the top about 20 mins before done. The crust was too hard and crunchy. The extra can of soup made the middle moist and good. I save 5 stars for something special. Probably will not make this again. Filling but not a winner.

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: May 8, 2006
I am Southern and I can fry some chicken, but this impressed me. I usually fry with just flour, salt and pepper, but I added the spices and the egg mixture. It was good. I didn't measure anything out, just threw the spices in. I added alot more garlic, I love it, and of course more salt amd pepper. I salted and peppered the chicken and the egg mixture. You cannot fry chicken in 15 minutes. I cooked on high for 5, then flipping, on medium, with lid on for 20. Nice and crispy. Served with baked potato and corn. Will make again.

Easy Creamy Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: May 5, 2006
I used ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese. Was real good and made a nice lunch for the next few days. I like my Mac and Cheese more "cheddary", but this was good. Maybe next time I will add some southwestern chicken pieces.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
This was a really good one. I added an extra can of diced tomatos with green chilies. It was enough to feed a small army. Will be having this again tomorrow night, with my mother. Served with rosemary bread. Hubby said he gave it a 4 because italian is not his favorite, but he really enjoyed it. Would be good to make a day ahead. This one took me a while after work. I started at 5:45 and we ate at 7:30(had to cook bread also), but that is OK because we do not have children. I will be making this again.

Not a big fan of the carrot. Also used a whole package of brown gravy. Served with white corn, texas toastand merlot. Will definatly make again, probably in the slow cooker. Savory Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2006
I was sick and my stomach hurt. I threw this together and sat down while it cooked. It was really good, a comfort food. I didn't even make any side dishes, I left hubby to fend for himself. I put 1 chicken breast in a bowl and ate it. It made my tummy feel better. Good sick food. Made the medication go down easy.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2005
This was a good basic pot roast recipe. I cooked it Saturday morning when hubby went x-mas shopping. Served with rice that evening, it was ok, nothing great. Served the next day for lunch with mashed taters. It was better the second day. Hubby said it was good, but he wants to try the roast made with cola recipe. I will try that next. I like roast with a thinner juice. It was good for the slow cooker. Seems most things turn our about the same in the slow cooker. Will make again though, it is a comfort food, nothing great.

Bacon Quiche Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2005
This was my first time making a dish like this, but it went very well. I used a whole biscuit for each quiche, but next time will not use as much. It was a bit dry because of that. The filling was delicious and I will definatly make this again. My husband wants me to try some hot peppers next time. I don't see a problem modifing this anyway you want. Good basic recipe. Thanks!

Will be making this for years to come. Next time will add some red bell pepper for color and taste. Served with potato chips and dip.
