Baked Potato Soup

Very good!! Serve with potato skins (use the recipe "Baked Potato Skins" from allrecipes. I used turkey bacon and instead of sauteeing the onions in bacon grease, I used olive oil.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
Awesome! I used 1 cup of brown sugar and then the rest white. UNBELIEVABLY moist. Then I sprinkle the tops with pecan halves...so they toast up nicely while the brownies bake. Seriously..perfection in a brownie! THANK YOU!

Perfect! I doubled the cinnamon and halved the cloves. They were soft, tender, and a perfect balance of spices. I used Smart Balance in place of the margarine.

Oaty Cereal Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
I doubled the recipe and put it in a 9 x 12. I also boiled the sugar and honey for 3-4 minutes. And I used natural peanut butter and the recipe worked great. I think they may have been a little too thick doubled, but would have been too thin if it was a singe recipe. So next time I may spread them into a larger pan. These are definitely a keeper!!

Apple Butter I

This was great. Definitely cut the sugar by at least one cup. It is great with both half brown sugar, half white. I gave this for Christmas gifts this year and it was a hit. I will be making this for years to come.

Amish Friendship Chocolate Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2007
We loved this. I did not want to make 4 new starters b/c I am tired of Friendship Breads,so I just scooped out 3/4 cup of starter and added 1/3 c of flour, sugar, and milk. That made about a cup of starter that was ready to add to this recipe. It is not overly chocolatey. But really good, nevertheless.

I added chopped cilantro and did not used bottled dressing. Instead, I just added olive oil and balsamic. It was soooo good. I got a lot of compliments and it was gone quickly!

4 1/2 stars on this one. It is just as salisbury steak should be. I have never made it before but will definitely make it again...changing nothing. My picky 5 yr old even scarfed it down. We all loved it!

Easy Key Lime Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
This was yummy. My husband is not a huge fan of graham cracker crust, so I made it with an oreo crust (crushed oreos with some melted unsalted butter). It is the first time he has EVER wished I had made a bigger crust. Usually, he just likes the tart key lime pie filling. Next time I will double the crust (I will use 32 oreos with 4 Tbl butter). I also followed the recommendation of 4 yolks, 2 can swt. cond. milk, and 1 c lime juice. The filling was good. Not as tart as my husband loves, but still very good.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2007
Three and a half stars is what I would give this if I could. While cooking, it smelled awesome and we were sooooo excited. Once I served it, I was very happy with it. I don't love the taste of canned tomatoes and felt that it gave it a chicken cacciatori taste. That is not necessarily a bad thing, but I was looking for a new take on chicken. I will make this again. Next time I will drain the tomatoes and add either more balsamic or something else on hand, if needed. The onions were really yummy.

These are really great. My whole family (including a picky 5 yr old) loved them. I used only whole wheat flour and I used Grapeseed oil to make them a bit healthier. I will be making these many more times.

Brown Sugar Cookies II

Reviewed: May 7, 2007
YUMMY! We loved this as a chocolate chip cookie. Take them out of the oven just before done and they are really chewy, wonderul cookies. Not as much of a BROWN sugar cookie as a sugar cookie with brown sugar in it...if that makes sense. Will make this my new choc chip cookie recipe.

Chocolate Meringue Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2007
I am giving this recipe 4 stars, even thought the way I made them only deserved 2 stars. I would not recommend substituting the Splenda in for the sugar unless you don't mind a strong aftertaste. I sub it a lot and don't usually mind it, but this time it was a detriment to the cookie. I am sure this recipe would have been great with sugar.

Easy Cheesy Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
This was a good chicken recipe...not great, but good. I made it from frozen breasts this morning before church and cooked it on high for 4 1/2 hours. When we got home the house smelled great and dinner was ready. I did not think there was enough flavor in the chicken, maybe b/c I used all of the "healthier" soups and sour cream. Next time I will jazz it up with some wine and some more seasonings. But I will do it again. Served it over brown rice wich was perfect to soak up the yummy sauce.

Chococonut Chip Cookies

Really good cookies. I used Smart Balance and they came out perfect (I underdo them slightly). Moist, chewy cookies. I would not say they were really unique, just good chocolate chip cookies with a interesting and delicious touch of coconut.

These are INCREDIBLE! We loved them so much on Christmas Day that I made them again on New Years Day for breakfast, only I spead butter, cinn/sugar, and pecans inside, rolled them up and sprinkled more on top. The best cinnamon rolls ever! Yum!
