Cheeseburger Soup I

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Very good, but I admit I added some things: salt and pepper, dash of hot sauce, a garlic cloved minced. Used beef broth instead of chicken. I tried a test bowl in the afternoon before dinner, and quickly had a second! A pinch of dried dill (on top after the soup is dished out) is a tasty addition too.

Austrian Peach Cookie

In over 40 years of baking cookies, this must be one of the most tasteless cookies I have made. I would throw it away but I hate to waste things. Too much trouble for such disappointing results.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

I did not add the filling, just the plain cookie is so good. My teenage daughter and her friend enjoyed several warm from the oven after school, they said they were delicious. I made a double batch so we'd have plenty.

Belgian Green Soup

I made 1/2 a recipe the first time, it's ok, not sure I'd make this again, maybe. I omitted the chicken though. Added 1 carrot, salt and pepper, and two dashes of hot sauce.

Almond Cherry Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This was my first time to make biscotti and these are delicious. I used about 3/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries, and 1 tsp each of vanilla and almond flavoring. Dough was very sticky, so I added another 1/2 cup flour then had to spoon it onto the pan (lined it with parchment paper) and they spread out some but came up off the paper with no problem. Now I'm planning to make some for Christmas gifts, and might dip one end in dark or white chocolate.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
Amazingly good! My whole family agreed this is a great recipe. I probably will never use a different dressing recipe. I actually made this a year ago and went looking for it for Thanksgiving this week and was surprised to find that I had forgotten to review it. The combination of spices and the fruit is perfect. My mom made delicious dressing but never measured, and I've tried thru the years to come up with something like hers. However, this one is better! I used pork sausage instead of turkey, added cornbread to the white and whole wheat bread cubes, and omitted the turkey liver. I also baked the dressing in a dish, not inside the turkey. I do not squeeze and mush the bread with the liquid, but blend it gently, that's just the way my mom made it and what I prefer. If you bake it in a dish, you might need to add a little more broth, keep it covered with foil for about 30 minutes, removing the foil just at the end.

Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
Delicious muffin, I didn't change anything. They were just out of the oven when my daughter came home from school and she and I tried them for the first time. She immediately had a second. Thanks for a good recipe. By the way, since this only uses 1/2 can of pumpkin you could either make a double batch of muffins and freeze some, or try the "Pumpkin Cookies V" like I just did, with a caramel icing, wonderful!

Pumpkin Cookies V

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2008
Wow! Are these ever delicious! I am so glad I tried thiese cookies. I had 1/2 a can of pumpkin left over from another recipe so I was just looking for something to use it up. I made half this recipe, and it made 44 ccokies, dropping the dough about the size of a walnut. I greased the cookie sheet, and let the cookies cool a few minutes before trying to remove them and they came up easily. (I mention that because I hate it when cookies tear up.) I don't know how they will taste tomorrow, but warm with the frosting dripping off they are heavenly! Next time I will make a full batch. Thanks for this recipe.

Yummy, these bars are so delicious! I made 1 1/2 times the recipe to put in a 9x13 pan. (I used 2 eggs, pecans instead of walnuts). I didn't increase the sugar on the topping. I'll be making these again (and again)!
