I am a father to 3 children that keep me busy and a husband to a wonderful wife. I love the simple things in life but also like to spice them up with a little bit of adventure. In addition to cooking and eating I love to read, travel, scuba dive and photography. I and my family are huge disneyland fans and try to go as often as we can.
My favorite things to cook
I spent two years in Japan as a missionary for my church. While there I learned to cook Japanese food. To this day I still like to cook Japanese food and it is usually received well. I also like to bake bread and BBQ. Really I will cook anything that looks good. I usually follow the recipes the first time and then start branching out and modifying them to suit my tastes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was younger (9-10 years old) I would make bread every Sunday. Now that I am older I haven't really created any cooking traditions. Every 4th of July we go to a small town in Utah to stay with my wife's sister's family and we usually cook ribs for everyone.
My cooking triumphs
I guess my biggest cooking triumph will be the day that I enroll in culinary classes. All my life I have been cooking but without formal training. I would love to be able to create dishes from scratch that are delicious and with a little bit of training feel confident that I can.
