About this Cook
I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes. My husband and son are great when encouraged to try new things. They are the reason I search this site so often. Thanks for all the new "favorites" my family will enjoy for years to come!
My favorite things to cook
Main course items: chicken, fish, beef, pork. I get very tired of fixing the same things over and over. It makes my job of preparing meals more exciting if I can "mix it up" a little.
My favorite family cooking traditions
New Year's Day menu: pork and sauerkraut with dumplings. This tradition came from Pennsylvania with my parents. It is supposed to bring good luck and good health for the coming year.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that gets a rave from my boys.
My cooking tragedies
Having leftovers that nobody will eat. I hate to throw food away. I made a navy bean soup once that would have chased a pack of starving dogs away. REALLY BAD!

American Lasagna
My husband actually made this and it was great! It has to be easy because he can only cook "canned soup" and hotdogs. Loved it!!

No Bull Burritos
This one was way to mushy for my crew. I like the flavor, but they gave it 2 thumbs down. Sorry.

Olive-Cheese Zucchini Boats
Good use for zucchini. I made too much "filling" and my boats were ready to sink. Next time I'll make 1/2 as much. Very tasty.
