I was born and raised in the Heart of Dixie and am proud to call Atlanta home today. I'm an attorney by day and by night/weekend/holiday, a wife/aspiring chef/interior designer/landscape designer/dog trainer/and devoted football fan (doesn't really matter who's playing though my alma maters -- Auburn and Georgia -- and the ATL Falcons come first in my heart!
My favorite things to cook
Anything that constitutes a Deep South delicacy, huge Thanksgiving spreads, Christmas breakfasts, and dinners for my husband that taste a lot more complicated than they realy were!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
4th of July cookouts at the beach with my dad manning the charcoal grill in 100 degree temperatures for hours on end.
My cooking triumphs
Handling my first Thanksgiving dinner all by myself - three appetizers, the bird, nine sides, two breads, four desserts, three drinks, and one very finicky eater (my now husband, then boyfriend) who decided on that day (or so I believe) that he really could spend the rest of his life with me!!
My cooking tragedies
A potato soup early in our marriage that my husband gallantly tried to choke down so as not to hurt my feelings.
