I'm a senior at UMBC and I study English and Political Science. I am getting my first apartment in August and am very much looking forward to having my own kitchen!
My favorite things to cook
Fried chicken, wilted spinach, hearty spaghetti sauce, cream/alfredo sauces, breakfast and brunch, Maryland crabs, anything with garlic and olive oil
My favorite family cooking traditions
Macaroni salad, Mommom's lasagna, Aunt Rosalie's crab dip, O'Pa's crab cakes, Mommom's butter cookies, Grandma's meat loaf (it was amazing), Grandma's oatmeal raisin cookies, my Mommy's pigs-in-a-blanket (childhood favorite)
My cooking triumphs
I make unbelievable fried chicken, I tinker and am mostly successful with Mediterranean and Italian food, I make a mean baked mac and cheese with kielbasa/ham chunks.
My cooking tragedies
Once I felt like making spaghetti sauce and the crumbled sausage I added made it WAY too salty. It was awful, I had to double the recipe and pour in the tomatoes! Also I eyeball everything so I'm not much of a recipe writer.
