This recipe has been in my family for over 30 years. The only difference is mine doesn't call for lemon juice.Mine calls for 1 TBLSP. of minced dried parsley. I make it all the time and everyone loves it.

I don't like a lot of pepper in or on my food, so I found--even though in all 1/2 tsp. of pepper does not semm like a lot, it was too much for me. It seemed to over-power the soup and took away from the asparagus flavor, so next time I will cut back on the pepper. Other wise, enjoyed the soup.

I really enjoyed this casserole dish. I used 2 cans of mushroom soup,1 can of celery and a little extra milk and it turned out great. I also used shredded cheddar cheese instead of the cheese slices, but didn't use enough. My daughter liked it but said to add more cheese next time as you couldn't really taste the cheese. My 5 yr. old granddaughter is a very picky eater but everything in this dish is something that she likes. She said she really enjoyed it and ate a big serving of it . This is a keeper.
