As a child I was very interested in what went on in the kitchen. My mom has always been an adventurous cook with her head in many different recipe books and I guess it has been passed down to me as well. I love different ingredients and love to experiment...thank goodness my husband loves different foods!! Indian food has to be my favorite but as I have said I will try anything!! My family is of swiss-german descent but growing up in western Canada we really experienced many different foods and many fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden. Organic has always been high on my families list and I still try (Mexico is very difficult) to find organic ingredients. One of the most amazing things that I cooked was a turkey that was soaked in a salt bath overnight.
