About this Cook
I am a wife and mother of 5, 4 boys and a girl. These growing boys keep me busy and are eating me out of house and home, I can definetly wait until they're teenagers, by then I would need two full-time jobs just to by food. I love cake decorating and put pictures of what I've done on my little website www.oursisterskitchen.com - my boys get to pick what they want for their birthday cake every year and so far nothing is duplicated.
My favorite things to cook
Love baking. Cooking different dinners is always appealing to me, I enjoy new things. My new interest is dutch oven cookie, we went camping with friends and saw how it's done, now I can't wait to try it myself.
My favorite family cooking traditions
During the holidays I always make candy. My husband enjoys taking toffee, fudge, peanut butter fudge, cream cheese mints, chocolate chip cookie dough truffles and anything else I can come up with; I usually try something new every year, if I like it then it stays.
My cooking triumphs
I have made some fabulous wedding cakes that I enjoy.
My cooking tragedies
Okay - I can make and bake almost anything. There is one thing that I can NEVER get right and it's popcorn; I can microwave the stuff and I can air pop it, but when it comes to stove top it just doesn't work - I've tried different heavy bottomed pots, I've even listened and followed all the tricks that people give to pop the corn on the stove top, I just can't get it right. Guess I'll just stick to the microwave stuff.

Chocolate Pecan Pie I
This is SOOOOO good. I kind of disobeyed the directions and I layered the chocolate and then pecans instead of stirring it all together. I put the chocolate on the crust and then put tons of pecans over it (I think pecan pies never have enough pecans) and then I poured the sugar-y mixture over the top - of course I had extra sugar mixture because I added too many pecans but it was well worth it. Thanks for the delicious recipe.

Mexican Sour Cream Rice
This is so very yummy. It's the only rice that my rice-hater likes, he actually got excited about it. I add some garlic powder when I'm adding the salt and pepper, and I only have 7oz cans of green chiles. Thanks for the yummy recipe, I made it twice last week.
