Quiche Lorraine I

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
This was a good quiche, but needed some adjustments. I used 8 slices of bacon, and half Monterey jack cheese and half swiss cheese. I also used 4 eggs. After it was done I tasted it and still felt like it needed something. I sprinkled cheese on the top to make it look a bit prettier and then served each slice with a dollop of sour cream and a slice of avocado. That really did it and my guests really enjoyed the taste as well as the presentation.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
This is the best broccoli salad there is. My grandma used to make this and I was so happy when I found the same exact recipe. I always double the dressing because I like to make this the day before I'm going to serve it and I noticed that the broccoli really absorbs the dressing so it is good to make extra for the next day.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
Oh wow was this good. I, like other reviewers did tweak the recipe a bit and used this as a base. I actually used three large frozen chicken breasts(yes straight from the freezer!) and put them in the slow cooker on high for two hours with a can of chicken broth, lawrys salt, fresh ground pepper and Old Bay. Once they were thawed and beginning to cook, I added in the onion and condensed soup. Boy did that smell good! I listened to some of the reviews and added the biscuits( I only used one container) about 2 hours before I wanted to serve. From the frozen chicken going in the crockpot to everything being taken out cooked to perfection it was about 6.5 hours. My family loved it and asked if I would make it again next week.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
This stuff should be illegal! It was a hit. I am not a huge dessert person, but I loved loved loved this recipe. It reminds me of the one my grandma used to make. To make it a little lighter I used Neufatchel cheese instead of cream cheese, sugar free pudding mix, fat free cool whip and 3 cups nonfat milk. It was still super rich even with those modifications. I thought it was fabulous.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
There isn't much to be said that hasn't already been said before. This recipe couldn't be any more delicious. It is perfect the way it is, but I also experiment with the fruits in the salsa based on what is fresh and in season. The cinnamon chips are something that I make just as a snack. I have served this over and over and people always want the recipe. It is perfect as an appetizer or a light dessert or even a snack. Thank you for this recipe!

Avocado Cheese Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
I'm sorry but I really did not like this bread. It just had such an unusual taste that I couldn't eat very much of it. It was like an illusion, at first it tasted pretty good and then as I took more bites it got weirder and weirder. I'm normally a pretty adventurous eater, but this just didn't do it for me. Some of our guests thought it was decent though.

Shrimp Avocado Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
An enjoyable pasta salad where the lemon really gives it a fresh taste. As many have said this has a lot of mayo in it and it is very creamy from the avocado as well. I made two versions of it, one with avocado and one without and I actually preferred the one without the avocado even though I love avocado. If I make it again, I will decrease the amount of avocado and increase the shrimp and I will perhaps throw in some crab meat as well. Not the greatest but not the worst.

Chicken Avocado Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
This pizza was very good and I made it as part of an avocado fest party that we had. The avocado mixture is very thick, but lends an interesting taste to the rest of the pizza. I used more chicken than what it called for and I grilled the chicken on the bbq first to give it more flavor. I don't give it a five because some of my guests thought it was a little bland. Next time I'm going to add more green onion and maybe some black olives to jazz it up.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
These were wonderful! I didn't have any yogurt in the fridge, so I substituted sour cream. Other than that I followed it exactly and they were yummy! They are the perfect consistency and when I make them again I will use sour cream, because everyone loved how they turned out. A winning recipe.

Chocolate Frosting I

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
This frosting was a life saver when I ran out of store bought stuff. And may I say that I will not be going back to store bought as my husband said this is the best frosting he has ever tasted. I did make an adjustment though that seemed to tame the sweetness and give it a better consistency. I added 4 heaping tablespoons of nutella. It was fabulous. The subtle hazelnut flavor and less sweet nutella chocolate make this frosting perfect. I could eat a whole bowl!

Cheese Please Fondue

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2008
I would give this 10 stars if I could. We had three functions during the week and I made it three times and every time it was the hit of the party. Served with sliced French bread it really is a decadent appetizer. It doesn't have to be put into a fondue pot either. I served it in a ceramic bowl for one of the events and it kept warm and gooey just the same. I will be making this many times again.

Creamy Banana Bread

Great Banana Bread. It was almost like a banana bread pudding. I actually cut a thick slice and topped it with some vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate sauce and served it as a dessert. It was very decadent.

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
This concept makes the best cookies. I use yellow cake mix and TONS of chocolate chips. The secret to big thick cookies is to chill the dough for 30 mins before baking. I then bake them until just set and let them cool. The result is a thick, soft, moist amazing cookie.

Cookie Brittle

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
What an interesting concoction! I substituted half white chocolate chips and half raspberry milk chocolate chips. I would recommend this, but it doesn't taste like real brittle. Its like jagged cookie pieces. Good for setting out for guests to nibble on though.

This was fantastic! I substituted gorgonzola and apples for the roquefort and pears, but it was still great. The dressing is really good too.

'Out of Salad Dressing' Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2006
Unlike other reviewers I found this dressing to have little taste. I added garlic powder instead of garlic salt. To make it taste better I added the prepackaged fresh bacon bits and more mayo. It became a thicker consistency and started to taste like something. Probably wouldn't make again though.

Chicken Kisses

Reviewed: May 25, 2005
My family really liked this easy to make BBQ recipe. If you know how to cut stuff up, then you can handle this recipe. I added about 4-5 Tablespoons of BBQ sauce and a little olive oil in each packet and it came out more moist than the recipe. Great to prepare ahead of time.
