Hot Fudge Ice Cream Bar Dessert

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
Easy, rich and delicious. I did end up using two jars of hot fudge and only added peanut butter to the middle layer. Instead of topping with peanuts, I topped with Heath Bar bits. Everyone really enjoyed this.

Meatball Nirvana

I know this has so many glowing reviews, but our family thought it was just okay. I prefer the recipes from Ina Garten or Giada for meatballs. I thought this lacked some flavor and was a bit dry.

Applesauce Loaf Cake

Very good and was super fast. I didn't use a full cup of sugar and did add 1/2 tsp salt. I look forward to making again with whole wheat flour. It is toddler approved also! Thanks!

Blue Cheese Dip II

This was very good. Had a deep flavor. Not like standard onion dip. I served this with Buffalo flavored kettle chips. Great contrast. It was a huge hit. Thanks!

Antipasto Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
Who knew salad could be exciting? This is wonderful! I did everything as per the recipe but added: jar of marinated quartered artichoke hearts, whole peppercinis, thinly sliced red onion, julienned pepperoni and omitted the chives. When I first made the dressing I thought it tasted weird. The next day it was right on. I tossed this without dressing and let people put it on themselves as I had doubled this recipe for a large function. I served the recipe dressing, good seasonings Italian dressing, and homemade ranch. It was wonderful with all three but I did prefer the original recipe dressing. I was asked to make this again for something coming up.

Classic Tiramisu

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
This is beyond fabulous. It is a little more work than a standard dessert but tastes like a million bucks. And that's what it'll cost for all the ingredients too! Just kidding. Made this for a large get together and had many people say that this was not only the BEST tiramisu they have ever had in their life but the BEST dessert they have ever had. A note on the recipe: It calls for way more ladyfingers than you will need if you are using a spring form pan. I couldn't find enough at the store and ended up making them from scratch(now that is a pain!) but made too many because of the incorrect amount. I would say you need about 16 oz worth of lady fingers not 24 if you are using a spring form pan. Make this recipe if you want people to think you are a fabulous cook and want to give you a diamond necklace because of it!

Broccoli and Onion Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This tasted like macaroni and cheese, if macaroni some how turned into vegetables. It's not the healthiest dish, but is really good and I could definitely see serving it for a holiday. I did change it and used a bag of frozen squash, a bag of frozen italian vegetable medley and a bag of frozen tri color peppers in place of the broccoli. It was so easy and yummy. I also sautéed the onions before hand instead of subjecting them to boiling. The sauce is a great base but is missing salt and seasoning! I added some Lawry's salt, fresh ground pepper and garlic powder as I cooked the sauce.

Tucson Guacamole

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
I get it. I wanted to love it. I thought it was okay. I love guacamole. Avocados are a gift from above with their mild flavor and creaminess. But then you add mild and creamy cream cheese and it just kinda goes bland. I ended up adding salsa to it to try to spice it up a bit more.

Cheesy Brat Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
I loved this. It was really hearty and flavorful. Yes, it feels like you have a brick in your stomach if you eat too much, but this is comfort food, don't expect to feel like you ate a celery stick. =) I added a whole sautéed onion and 2 garlic cloves. I also had to add more than 2/3 cup water because it was a little to thick.

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
I'm sorry, I didn't care for this. I'm not a honey mustard aficionado, but this just didn't taste very good. I thought it was way too mayonaisey and I'm in love with mayo. I have made many better recipes than this for honey mustard.

Seafood Sandwich

I enjoyed it. My husband hated it. What are you gonna do? I added some celery to it for more crunch and some garlic powder for more flavor. It's no lobster roll, but I thought it was a very tasty meal.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Agree with other posts. This is a hit. I covered the bacon and smokies in brown sugar separately and then rolled again once together. I prepped them all the night before so all I had to do was pop them in the oven before time to serve.

Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Soooooooo good. I had some really ripe frozen bananas that I wanted to use up. This was the perfect venue for them to shine. I added 4 bananas instead of 2 and upped the chocolate chips to 2 cups. I also added cocoa powder to make it more chocolately. Served warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream... this is what dessert should be.

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
This is an interesting creature. It is a great base, but when made per the recipe I found it to be a little odd. I used 1/3 cup ketchup and added a little honey and it seemed to make it tastier. Wasn't my favorite sweet and sour but is very quick to make.

Chocolate Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
You can't get much easier than this! I used a jar of Hershey's hot fudge for the top that I microwaved for 30 seconds in place of the frosting. I made this the day before I served it. This was devoured. I heard complaints of stomach aches because they ate so much. Ah, just what a cook wants to hear. =)

Blueberry Pie Pops

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2011
These were very cute and a big hit with the friends I made them for. I did not have the sticks for making them into pops, so I made them into mini pies. The directions are simple to follow. Do pay attention to not overfilling them. Some of them can start pouring out like a blueberry volcano! I added 1 cup fresh blackberries to the filling and used 1/3 cup sugar. I also made a glaze of powdered sugar and milk and drizzled over them as soon as they came out of the oven and then topped with sprinkles. They looked like spring treats. I will be making these again.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
This was very tasty. I give it 4 stars and not 5 because it wasn't the best dessert ever. It seemed to be lacking a little something. I drizzled chocolate sauce over it and garnished each piece with a dollop of whipped cream and a sliced strawberry. Looked great and guests loved it.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
All the great reviews pretty much say it all. I used egg roll wrappers and sprayed with cooking spray and baked in the oven at 425 for 15 minutes. They were perfect. Everyone thought they were fried because they tasted so good and crunchy. Made everything else exactly like recipe. Can't wait to make again.

Amy's Cilantro Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2010
This was super good. I would have given it 5 stars, but it took a little doctoring up to make it that way. I thought it tasted a bit bland after just making the initial recipe. I added more garlic powder, some onion powder, paprika and sea salt. I made this lighter by using neufchatel cheese instead of cream cheese and fat free sour cream. Everyone thought it was delicious. Was very good with the southwestern egg rolls from this site.

Bruschetta I

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
This was good, but I left out the onion, I didn't want to over power the delicate tomato taste. I used super ripe heirloom tomatoes instead of plum tomatoes. I topped the bread with homemade pesto and then the tomato mixture. It was a great starter.
