Neat Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
Yum!!! I use to make another sloppy joeo recipe which me and my DH LOVED but the kids wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. The kids LOVED this recipe. I left out the celery and onions but did ad a 1/2 tsp onion powder. I also took one reviewers changes and used 1/2 ground turkey and whole wheat buns for a healthier version. This goes into my rotation!

Yum. Love it! Even picky non eating green pepper Husband liked it. These are the changes I made, 2 green and 1 onion. No water chesnuts. I thought the kids might not care for them. Instead I used sliced mushrooms. I also use 1 1/2 lbs sirlion steak. Served over wheat egg noodles. Will make again!

Linguine with Chicken and Sauteed Vegetables

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
I really loved the flavor in this recipe and followed it exacty with exception of the cabbage. We didn't have any so I left it out. My kids didn't really care for it though. My 10 year old thought the pasta had no flavor. I loved it!

Can't get much easier. I made this to go with cheddarwurst and broccoli for dinner. The kids loved it. I thought it needed a little spicing up so I may add a some seaoning next time. Great recipe for a busy night!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2007
This was a good recipe. I really like the portions sizes for my three kids. I thought the meatloaf itself was little on the soft side, mushy. I would add a little more meat next time, maybe 1/4-1/2 lb. I also though the glaze was little sweet for our taste. I would make again though. I paired it with mashed potatoes and smothered green beans.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
Tried this recipe last night and it was so good. Follwed the recipe exactly. Very tender. Served with ham and cheese bowties. I leave the ham out of this recipe when I make it as a side dish and a green salad. My 8 year old son said it was better than McDonald's chicken nuggets which is a big compliment coming from an 8 year! Will definately make again.

Ham and Cheese Bowties

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
I haven't rated this recipe yet even though I have made it a dozen times. I am making it again tonight so I thought I had better review it. I LOVE this recipe. It is very easy and my family enjoys it. I make it as a main dish with the ham in it and as a side dish leaving the ham out. I have thought about adding frozen peas to it but haven't tried it yet. This dish is a winner!

Oven-Fried Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
My kids ranted and raved over these potatoes. I followed the directions exactly with the exception of adding more cheese. I cooked them 40 minutes but would cook them 50 next time as some pieces didn't taste all the way cooked. These were very yummy and easy. Definately a keeper!

Smothered Green Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
These beans were very tasty. I had already started green beans on the stove in some water when I came across this recipe so my beans were almost done cooking. I drained them and followed the directions as far as bacon, onion and garlic. Then I dumped the green beans in and cooked for about 10 minutes. I did salt and pepper them to taste. Very good!

Pasta with Hot Sausage Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
I really enjoyed this recipe. It was easy to make and flavorful. I did use mild Italian sausage because of my kids. My 10 year old Daughter thought it was spicey but liked it. I left out the capers. Didn't have them and didn't want to buy them. Next time I will try it with turkey italian sausage and whole wheat pasta. I did use the ziti. Very good! It's a keeper!

Burrito Pie

This was very good and easy to make. The whole family enjoyed it. I did omit the garlic and onions and used 1 pack of mild taco mix. I also used to flour tortillas per layer. I did cut mine with scissors to fit. I mixed the meat with the beans and it was good. My 8 year old son asked me to make it again!

My 4 year old Daughter loves these hot dog men. She likes her on a bed of macaroni and cheese. I just make a pack of the microvable kind. She doesn't like ketchup so it's all mustard for the eyes, mouth and buttons. Thanks for making lunchtime fun!

Firehouse Machaca Taco Filling

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2007
Yum yum yum. Any time all three of my kids and my husband like dinner it's a hit. I had to cook the meat about 3 hours and add more water after about 2 hours to get the meat to get tender. I still couldn't break it apart with a fork so I pulled it apart. I let it simmer with the cooked onions and green pepper, etc. for about a half hour. It was delicious! Thanks!

Cucumber Sandwich

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2007
This sandwich reminds me of one of my favorite vegetarian sandwiches from a local restaurant in town. It was very filling and yummy. The only thing I changed was I left off the cream cheese and used Greek hummus instead. I also added a few slices of pepper jack cheese. I didn't have the pepperocini but will add it next time I make it. Thumbs up to this recipe!
