This cake needs more spice and flavour for me. The icing was also too sweet. Next time I will try it with some of the recommendations in the reviews.

The reciped as written is 2 stars - it is very bland. I have used many of the recommendations and tried this reciped a couple more times - added spices, vanilla, changed up the flour (whole wheat), changed the sugar and I still wouldn't give them more then a 4. There is still something missing, I think I might have to give up on this recipe soon.

This is the best way to use up leftover mashed potatoes! The recipe as is is a bit bland - at least I like to add green onions and pepper. It is one of those recipes you can alter in a million ways though - the base is great.
