I loved this because I can put it all in the crock pot first thing in the morning, go about my day and have a wonderful completed meal when I return home at 5pm. Few observations: the recipe definitely meant to say 8 hours on LOW, I can't imagine how it would have turned out otherwise, nor can I think of any crock pot recipe that is cooked THAT long on high. Secondly, use beef broth instead of water, it gives that much more flavor. Finally, I took out the roast and let it rest for 20 minutes and threw the cabbage in. It was perfectly cooked in the 20 minutes and not soggy at all.

The sauce for this recipe is phenomenal, however, our ribs were very very chewy and hard. I was hoping for fall off the bone type of ribs. I think it might have been the lower quality of the ribs we purchased, so we will try again with better quality ribs. I also want to find a different method where you do more than just wrap them in foil and bake them, so that the cooking method will also lead to a more succulent rib. . ..still looking.

These were great. I have consistently hated boxed mixes, especially ones that ask you to "just add water." I craved the soft fluffly pancakes I had as a child and this recipe fulfilled that. The only change I made was to use actual buttermilk instead of making the "sour milk" because I had it in the fridge.
