About this Cook
I didn't start cooking until I met my husband. Now, you can't get me out of the kitchen!
My favorite things to cook
Roast meat - chicken, pork, lamb & beef. I also love a good Burgundy Beef on a cold night. I'll try about anything as long as I can find the ingredients.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love baking cookies, especially chocolate chip! I'm a big fan of old fashion pancakes on a weekend morning and let's not forget a big Sunday lunch for the family.
My cooking triumphs
My Burgundy Beef is usually a hit with guests and I do a mean turkey stuffing.
My cooking tragedies
Oh, were to begin? My last attempt at turkey carcass soup turned into an inedible grey mess! And I have had a saumon pasta sauce turn blue!! (don't ask)

Heavenly White Cake
The cake tastes great but it fell apart when I took it out of the pan. This was VERY disappointing as I followed all the recommendations. I won't be making this cake again.

Grandma Minnie's Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies
If you are looking for a cookie that tastes like sugar, these are NOT for you. They taste more like shortbread. I followed the recipe exactly and these came out better than I could have hoped for. You will be tempted to add additional liquids as the dough is very dry....DON'T DO IT! The trick is to work the dough with your hands allowing the butter to melt slightly. I worked the dough for a bit in the bowl then took out baseball size balls of dough to work on a floured surface. After a few minutes it was perfect. Like others have said, watch them carefully in the oven as they can go from brown to burnt very quickly!

Baked Mushroom Rice
So-so. I had to make quite a few changes to get the consistency right and over all it was a disappointment.
