About this Cook
I'm a pharmacist from NJ with a passion for food
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian always comes out perfect for me. I also dabble with southwest cuisine and good ol comfort food. My FAVORITE dish that i crave consistently is Tortellini Alfredo and my boyfriend's favorite disk of mine is Italian Cornflake chicken cutlets. Overseasoning here is actually the key!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas eve, the seven fishes. We now only do about 3 and they're shrimp, lobster, and schmelts, but the time we spend in the kitchen that night (and many others) is the reason why I cook!
My cooking triumphs
My mom's LASAGNA! I did it! My boyfriend ACTUALLY prefers mine.. and my own take on shrimp scampi showed me I actually had a pretty great palate! I tasted EXACTLY how i wanted it to and my DAD prefers it over my GRANDMA'S!!
My cooking tragedies
My mom's LASAGNA! :) This one is bittersweet, the first time i made it was perfect the second time (thankfully NOT a special occassion) I used a different brand of tomatoes and it litteraly looked like i used pink water. It actually still tasted good even though it was messy. And i like to burn bread and anything else you can broil!

Tilapia with Creamy Sauce
I changed this a lot. Added a breadcrumb crust tsp butter melted a few tbs bread crumb fresh grated romano and dill, sprinkle on top. Lemon to taste in all, thinned cream cheese sauce with cream, make sure you season fish well (salt pepper dry dill lemon butter). Cooked for 20 minutes, would have been raw otherwise. Then broiled for 5 minutes to brown crust well. Big hit after adjustments.

Broccoli Noodles and Cheese Casserole
i don't know if i messed up or if my oven wasn't hot enough.. but it was just a mushy mess that didn't become creamy. maybe add some cream and make a sauce before you toss it in the oven.
