I'm a stay at home mom of one toddler. I love to cook, however my cooking has gotten much quicker in this time of my life. I am looking forward to spending more time on more complicated recipes in the future. For now, I look for quick, healthy meals my toddler and husband will eat. They both are great at trying most anything. We would prefer to be vegans but just can't let go of cheese and seafood. My mom taught me to cook very southern. I have ventured out the last 11 years into many other cultures.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are salmon, pizza, breads(breadmaker of course), anything vegetarian(love fresh tomatoes an BASIL), big brunches, grilling anything... I cook a huge variety of food. I have a problem of cooking the same thing a few times a year. I also use to work for a french bakery in college. I learned a ton of stuff there. Lots of yummy desserts and pasteries. I can also decorate cakes pretty good. Lots of practice!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Throwing cookie dough on the ceiling, my grandma's chicken and dumplings, popovers, homemade veggie soup with vegetable from our own garden, quinoa, snow ice cream...
My cooking triumphs
Chickpea salad with feta, tomatoes, olives, cucumber...black beans and quinoa(from this site), veggie pasta dishes...
My cooking tragedies
Wow, one every few weeks probably. I usually have my husband rate it on a scale 1 to 10. I get a 9 a handful a times a month and usually average around a 7. That's our taste though. I love this site!! I can read all the reviews and it helps me stay away from bad recipes and pitfalls.
