I think this simple recipie yeilds simple returns. For our family, this was mainly for the kids - they put it together and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread! It turned out exactly the way I expected, that's why the five stars. (after reading other reviews, it will be fun to add different ingredients next time)

Hearty Vegetable Lasagna

Loved it! I have turned to a new process for the lasagna noodles: lay hard noodles on sheet pan. Pour boiling water over to soften. Layer as usual. Works every time. I also like spinach (frozen pkg. thawed & drained) in with the ricotta mix.

Curried Wild Rice Soup

Supurb! I incresed the porpotion of broth, and decreased the cream, and it was silky & delicious. Also used lemon juice instead of sherry and added shredded, cooked chicken. Perfect for the cold weather.

White Bean Turkey Chili

Perfect for our Halloween night! I used canned Fire Roasted Tomatoes, and actual Turkey breast that I roasted instead of the ground turkey. The only thing I will add next time is hominy (because we love it!)

Rosemary Chicken with Orange-Maple Glaze

just great! Like others, I would highly recommend using a corn starch slurry to thicken the sauce. I added orange zest, and it was a little bitter, so be cautious on that, if you're going to add.

Slammin' Salmon

this really is as tasty as everyone says! Substituted Canola for the Peanut oil ('cuz I didn't have peanut), and baked for 20 minutes at 425. The only things is that (not surprisingly) it turned out a very dark color....soy, balsamic, etc.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

for the past two years, it has become a tradition in my family that I make this cake for birthdays. I just dust it with powdered sugar and put it on a pedistal. It has that semi-homemade quality........super easy, moist and delicious. Thanks for the family favorite!

Chicken Macaroni Salad

I am giving 5 stars because the salad was a pleasant surprise. Because it is the summer, I decided on fresh corn and edamame instead of using the canned veggies it called for. Also, I added lots of fresh parsley instead of the lettuce, mainly because I knew I would have leftovers and thought it would keep better.

Baked Dijon Salmon

5+ on this one. What a pretty presentation! The timing & the temp are perfect. I substituted Panko, the Japanese bread crumb, for regular bread crumbs and it was superb! Thanks for a new way to do Salmon.

French Ham Cheese and Egg Fondue Casserole

Wow, I cut come corners (did not do layers, added parm to top of casserole) and I am very impressed! I added cayenne to the flour mixture. Really fluffy and delicious.

Fluffy French Toast

four and a half! Maybe because I made a double batch, but the flour sank to the bottom of the dish, so the first batch was like there was no flour, and the second batch was a bit gooey on the sides of the toast. I will continue to make mine without the flour.

Maryland Crab Cakes II

I had never made crab cakes before, so I was looking for something simple. This is it! Baked on parchment paper. Crispy on the outside, stayed together well, and moist and lumpy on inside...YUM! I served mine with homemade Remoulade sauce.

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

I couldn't wait to review this recipe, but I have been so busy making it again and again! I followed exactly, and it is UNBELIEVABLE! Everyone loves it. The key is to not overcook the shirmp. Also, I chilled the shrimp afterward and serve cold as an appetizer.

Hot or Cold Vegetable Frittata

made this a number of times with minumal adjustments. just couldn't do it with the cream cheese, but great recipe without it! Also did balsamic oven-roasted vegetables (on this sight) for extra flavor. I love serving it at room temp after keeping it in the fridge. flavors really open up. also added sliced tomatoes on top the last bit of cooking. it was so good!

love 'em! some tips here: to prevent them from rolling around, don't cut the TOP off, cut the BOTTOM off and leave the top. also, I usually drain upside down of paper towel. one last thing - I use my food processor to get the bacon really chopped up, then fold in other ingredients.

Broccoli and Tortellini Salad

made this a couple times, and it just got better. you can use just white vin for the dressing if you don't have cider vin. also, I think it's important not to over cook the tortilini because it will fall apart when you toss the salad together. The final thing that really made this so good was that I blanched then shocked the broccoli. So bright and it took the dressing better this way. We loved the salad so much that one time we added cooked, diced chix.

Delicata Creamy Squash Soup

wow, really really nice soup. ended up using butternut squash and it was delicious. for those who have not yet invested in a home kitchen 'wand,' you should! just put it in the pot of soup and go - it's smooth as silk!
