Spooky Witches Fingers

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
These were a big hit at my 4 year old's Halloween party. I wish they tasted better, but if they tasted better, they'd be flat and undercooked. Great concept though. Everybody wanted the recipe, and it was fun making them.

Russian Chicken with Feta Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
This was okay. I think it was too overpowering with sour cream. I made it exactly by the recipe, only I used extra chicken broth instead of vodka. I don't like liquor in my food. Maybe the vodka would have made it taste better. It was worth a try, because it sounded really good.

Pork Tenderloin with Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
This was really good. I was skeptical while it was cooking, because the red wine vinegar didn't smell very good. After simmering for a while, it started to smell really good. Do note, though, I thought the mixture looked too thick when I added it to the meat. I added water. Don't do that. It will thin itself a bit. I saved the leftover gravy to freeze. I'll use it as a base for vegetable beef soup.

Cheeseburger Soup I

Excellent! I made it exactly as written, except I chopped the carrots. Oh, and I used bacon grease instead of butter (I'm from the south, what do you expect?). It was perfect for a cool football Saturday lunch. I will definitely use this recipe again.

I'm so disappointed. I've been wanting to make this dip for a long time, and I finally did. It just wasn't what I expected. It would probably go over well at a party, but I won't make it again. All I could think about is how much fat must be in it.

Banana Pudding IV

This is the best banana pudding recipe I've ever tried. I beat the sliced bananas in with the pudding so it has a more banana flavor. So creamy and rich.

Chili Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
I probably would have given this 5 stars if I had used home made chili. I just don't care much for canned chili. The concept sounds really good though. I love cream cheese dips. I will give it one more try this winter when I make chili from scratch.

Tomato Feta Salad

Normally I wouldn't rate a recipe if I didn't follow it to a tee, but I don't think my substituting white wine vinegar for balsamic made much difference. It was okay. Very strong.

OMG, are you kidding me? This was soooo good! I almost ate the whole thing, and I couldn't wait the 2 to 6 hours of letting it sit. I wasn't able to chop the avocodo, so I just smushed it. Love it! Love it! Love it! I nwould

Cajun Chicken Sandwiches

I quadrupled this recipe and marinated split chicken breasts in it, then basted the breasts while cooking them on the grill. Great flavor. I'll definitely use this as my cajun seasoning recipe. Not too spicy, not too salty.

Pork Slaw Skillet

Very different. I really liked this for a nice change of pace. I'm not a big celery fan, and the celery flavor was a bit overpowering. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for that one thing. I can't wait to make this again with maybe a dash of celery salt. Should be perfect.

Quick Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
NOTE: I ONLY MADE THE SAUCE IN THIS RECIPE. That being said, it was excellent! I used whipping cream instead of milk, and I think that made a big difference. I'm sorry, normally I won't review a recipe if I make changes to it, but this sauce is really really good, and I wanted to be helpful to others who might try it. By the way, I used the sauce with the Chicken a la Good recipe, which was awesome too.

Chicken a la Good

Chicken a la AWESOME! Oh man, I made myself sick going back for seconds. I made it exactly as the recipe reads, except I marinated the chicken in Italian dressing for a few hours. In addition, I made the cream sauce in the Quick Chicken Cordon Bleu recipe. I thought it might be dry otherwise. Really really good recipe. I will definitely make again.

Are you kidding me??? I could eat an entire recipe of this stuff. Crackers, Fritos, Ruffles, doesn't matter. I could eat it with a spoon. And so easy. My new favorite dip!

Pretty good overall. I would have given it five stars, but it was too hot for my taste. Made it exactly as directed. Gooey, cheesy, and fattening!

Apricot Nectar Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
I've been making this cake for years, and I never get tired of it. Just the other day, I had to use an orange cake mix because the store was out of lemon. It was just as good as the lemon version. Also, you can use any flavor of nectar. The nectar doesn't add a particular flavor to the cake, just moistness.

Strawberry Meringue Cake

This is my absolute favorite cake! It gets kind of messy, but that's part of what makes it so good. You have to eat it within a day or two because of the whipped cream. Never a problem though. I could eat the whole thing by myself in one day! Awesome recipe.

Pesto Pita Appetizers

These were really really good! I didn't have pitas, so I used tortillas. The flavor was great. I cut them into strips and dipped them in spaghetti sauce. I can't wait to try this recipe like it should be, with pitas.
