About this Cook
As a cook, I like to make dishes that look and taste great while saving steps and using shortcuts. I also entertain LOTS! I love to use the grill and my slow cooker in the summer and the oven in the winter.
My favorite things to cook
Slow cooker ANYTHING! Pound cakes, banana bread, roasts, steamed veggies, dips of any kind, fondue. Finding the easy way to make a meal look and taste great. I love tricks and tips that aren't obvious.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have elaborate Christmas meals. I make a glorious standing rib roast. I also really enjoy making my kids' birthday cakes every year, anything from a bunny to a race track, I get lots of satisfaction from surprising them. I also host and cook for my whole church every Easter morning. Lots of work, but lots of joy too.
My cooking triumphs
I hosted (entirely on my own) a baby shower for my girlfriend (triplets!). We had 40 women, great food, and lots of compliments. I was nervous, but it went great.
My cooking tragedies
Serving undercooked crunchy rice in jambalaya (for 40, why do I always cook for 40?!) at a church meal. I'd had a very rough week and it was the last straw. I asked another sweet lady to finish and I bailed!

Cranberry Sauce
Wooowheee! Fast, easy and delicious. Will never get the can-shaped log again. Tip-Watch for boil over while cooking, I had sticky red sauce all over my stove! oops :)

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball
I made mine into a Cherry Chocolate Chip Cheeseball. I added finely chopped dried cherries, 1/2 tsp cherry flavoring to it. It is not very solid, but tastes great.

Snow Flakes
Very easy. I make a batch every Christmas with my Pampered Chef press. I sprinkle red and green sanding sugars on before baking. These are light and subtle, and freeze well.
