I've been trying to learn to cook over the last few years. I wish I had paid more attention to my mom in the kitchen. I love to bake, especially cakes and pies. I'm learning now how to make pie crust. I find baking a lot of fun and therapeutic. My mom always made a wonderful jam cake and custard for Christmas. A very good memory. I recently baked a ham with a glaze that I concocted, and it was excellent. I made a butterscotch pie that was absolutely beautiful, could have been photographed for Southern Living. When we cut it, it was nothing but butterscotch milk. Oops!
